Summary/Abstract: As a result of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus pandemic, Christian funeral rites started to be celebrated based on the introduced restrictions rather than liturgical norms. More and more frequently, funerals were held without a priest or a Mass. Funeral rites connected with body cremation and interring the urn in a grave were often applied. Those customs may continue to affect the method of celebrating funeral rites also after the pandemic. Therefore, special care should be taken in pastoral practice to ensure the proper celebration of Christian funeral rites. In this formation, we should remember that for a Christian, his/her entire life started with Holy Baptism should be a gradual preparation for death viewed in the Paschal dimension as the meeting with God.
