Summary/Abstract: Public health policies to combat the coronavirus pandemic amplified the socio-economic consequences of neoliberal globalization (declining employment and rising unemployment, the spread of precariousness and poverty, the development of new patterns of work, automation and digitalisation of the workplace), and re-actualized the debate on the (in) effectiveness of existing social policy programs in relation to emerging challenges in the field of health and working conditions. In an atmosphere of growing social dissatisfaction and anxiety and the imperative to redesign an inclusive social contract, the idea of a universal basic income, equally attractive and controversial, is experiencing a wider scientific and social reception and is increasingly perceived as a key element of the (egalitarian and feminist) post-crisis social policy system. Therefore, by summarizing key sociological and economic foundations of the concept of universal basic income, and its analysis from feminist perspective, this paper aims to contribute to expending and popularizing of social innovation vocabulary in scientific and socio-political discourse in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
