Summary/Abstract: The article offers an interpretation of Norwid’s poem “Nerves” from the volume Vade-mecum in the context of the correspondence between the poet and Joanna Kuczyńska. One important aspect of their exchange was his understanding of faith and Christianity in the cultural context. The key to this interpretation is Norwid’s ambition to revise religiousness and faith, or the urge to revive Christianity in the spirit of kalokagathia.
