Summary/Abstract: In this paper we have analysed a descriptive adjective mršav,-a,-o and its English equivalent thin. Having applied the interdisciplinary approach of analysis which includes collocational method (Hlebec 2008; Hlebec 2011), then componential analysis of the extracted collocates as well as their contrastive analyses we have highlighted certain semantic similarities and differences among the analysed samples. Specific emphasis has been given to the presence of grammatical gender in Montenegrin in contrast to its lack in English.
