Summary/Abstract: Within a wider scientific research of descriptive adjectives and their near synoyms, we noticed a a prevailing idiomatic meaning of the analized adjectives. In this paper, we will apply contrastive analysis of descriptive adjective prljav,-a,-o in Montenegrin and the descriptive adjective dirty in English in order to prove the presence of the abovementioned descriptive adjectives' prevailing idiomatic meaning in both languages. Methodology of the research comprises frequency of the primary and idiomatic meaning analyses of descriptive adjective prljav,-a,-o, based on the grounds of the Contemporary Serbian language electronic corpus, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Belgrade, and the descriptive adjective dirty analysed on the British National Corpus data (BNC).
