Summary/Abstract: The aim of this study is to reveal the contribution of digitalization to education process and analyzing problems faced in distance education during the COVID-19 epidemic period. The information was collected through an open written interview and literature reviews. Content analysis was applied for the analysis of the collected data. During the pandemic, various important results were obtained regarding the use of distance learning. From the point of benefits of digital education, important finding is that it helps to develop students' self-study and analytical skills, increases self-motivation , creates an access a wider source of information, eliminates the problem of time and space. Despite its advantages, distance education, which is contribution of digitalization, created a number of side effects during the pandemic. It has been observed that participants have problems connecting to the programs as Microsoft Teams and Zoom and having a slow internet connection speed, communicating with families, classroom management and motivation of students. Another problem was the lack of distance education experience for teachers and students, the lack of digital skills of most teachers, and dependence on traditional teaching methods. According to the research findings, it is seen that teachers mostly have expectations from administrative mechanisms, followed by other education stakeholders.
