Summary/Abstract: This paper analyzes the use of imperative that refers to past repetitive actions in a speech of Tutin, Novi Pazar and Sjenica. We examine the significance of syntactic-semantic, pragmatic and stylistic parameters that regulate the use of imperative in situations when there is need to express habitual actions in narrative. It has been shown that temporal imperative is the most similar with narrative potential, than with temporally transposed present and perfect tense in their primary use. We strive to show differences and similarities between verb forms that are competitive with imperative. The significance of syntactic-semantic and other conditions that allow combinations of named tenses is also emphasized in this work.
