Summary/Abstract: This paper examines how the party system in post-communist Romania has evolved following the nine rounds of parliamentary elections. Using Blondel’s classic explanatory model and, in addition, the ENP formula, the paper tries to outline a specific model of Romanian partidism. It analyzes every electoral moment and emphasizes that the party system in post-communist Romania falls rather within the multiparty type with a dominant party.
