Summary/Abstract: Given the major cultural changes that we have witnessed, it prompts us to pay particular attention to how communication technologies affect individual and societal memory. The question therefore arises as to the collective dimension of memory, but also how the idea of culture affects collective memory. Dealing with collective memory has two main points of reference: the individual memory and the collective memory. Both approaches are based on the conviction that one can only remember what can be communicated in direct and mental alternation with others. The approach to collective memory is an interdisciplinary research area, despite this, there is no cohesive definition of collective memory.
