Summary/Abstract: Organizations are faced with many crises originating from both internal and external factors. Reducing the negative effects caused by the crises or turning the crisis into an opportunity is related to the crisis management process. Perhaps the most important factor in the crisis management process is the management style of the manager responsible for crisis management. The crisis management approach exhibited by the leader responsible for crisis management will make the employees feel safe, and the employee who feels safe will carry out his activities as a part of the crisis management process. This will result in an increase in performance. In this context, in this study, the effects of the paternalist leader, which is a leadership approach suitable for Turkish culture, on the relationship between crisis management and employee performance were investigated. The sample of the study consists of two call centers operating in Erzurum in 2019. Data were collected from a total of 141 employees using the survey technique. The obtained data were subjected to regression and hierarchical regression analysis. As a result of the study, it has been found that the paternalist leader has a partial mediating effect in the relationship between crisis management and employee performance.
