Summary/Abstract: The Communist Party of Yugoslavia intended to export its revolutionary experience and to strengthen the position of the state through the youth working actions. Several thousands of young people from both the states of „people's democracies“ and parliamentary democracies participated in the great working actions during the period 1946-1951, while many young Yugoslavs took part in the same actions abroad. Activists of the People’s Youth of Yugoslavia strived to ideologically influence the foreign youth in the spirit of Marxism-Leninism, which caused numerous problems in their mutual relations. The encounter of young Yugoslavs and their peers from other countries was burdened with misunderstandings and stereotypes that prevented stronger bonding. Therefore, youth working actions in the observed period proved to be unsuccessful means of foreign policy of the Federal People’s Republic of Yugoslavia.
