Summary/Abstract: Our paper’s aim is to simply familiarize the reader with the banking-financial terminology in Russian, based on the analysis of a corpus of text, with reference to the combination of words in this economic field (more specifically, the commercial one), phrases that contain one component borrowed from English. A simple classification of these phrases showed complex compounds with two, three and even four elements. However, in approaching the topic of phrases with an element borrowed from English it was necessary to review some theoretical considerations that constituted the basis of the classification.
