Summary/Abstract: Freedom of Christianity which was given during the time of Emperor Constantine the Great meant freedom of expression through the art of music. For no king have people worked more than for the King of Glory, Jesus Christ. He was glorified by our ancestors through architecture, building great churches dedicated to Him. The greatest sculptors, poets and writers of the world have written for Christ and to embellish everything that is connected to the Church where human souls gathered for prayer and song. Each period of time from Christ onwards has had a certain stage of development in each area. Construction styles of churches have demanded a similar development of other artistic areas. Humanity from Christ onwards was aware of the role and importance of singing in public divine worship. People knew that by means of language (prayer and song) they can open heaven or hell, because language is the key to heaven through songs and prayers, and through the worldly songs and words of blasphemy against faith and God, language becomes the key to hell as the song says, “The Jews hid Life in the grave and the robber opened heaven with his tongue”. A nicely played music can penetrate deep inside us. Due to Constantine the Great, Byzantine musical art was a landmark guide for this art in the Eastern Christian area.
