Summary/Abstract: Slavic fantasy has gained enormous popularity in the Polish publishing market over the lasttwo decades. It has been noticed and classified by researchers, having developed various subtypes.This diversity of implementation of the Slavic theme contributed to the creation ofsignificantly diverse female characters. In this text, we have decided to take a closer lookat three selected characters taken from the Slavic imaginarium communis: the witch (hag/besom); female warrior/leader; woman-demon, in order to try to answer the question – whatdepiction of women/femininity in general emerges from the analysed genre?
