Summary/Abstract: The term of office of school principal is between 1 and 4 years, and its selection is done largely by school inspectorate according with a confusing criterion. What is at stake a school principal who is not elected based on the results? As perceived by the professional community that will lead them? How react this school principal he/she knows it will not be evaluated based on the school’s objectives fulfillment? At the same time, what is the teachers’ perception about successful school? What traits specific folder are considered an effective, a good school principal? We analyzed representative sample school ranked as successful and the less successful with lower marks at national examination or school competitions. The findings are very interesting and can guide school principal to be perceived as a professional. Which are the values most appreciated by teachers' staff? It is important for a school principal to know the students. Where the school principal is spending the time, among the staff or students or in his/her office? Which is the ideal model? Also, from the inspectorate perspective, a school principal must be selected by criteria known by all and evaluated from the indicators fulfilled. In fact, both, selection and evaluation are subjective. In this confusing perspective, it is more difficult to describe the characteristics of successful school principal. Are these characteristics correlated with the school? What about the ICT variables? Are these important for school? Do we find a successful school principal in all successful school? It is interesting to analyze all these correlations within the schools? What does it mean a successful school principal and how a school principal can develop its?
