Summary/Abstract: This article discusses the specificity of women’s political slogans (catchwords) - slogans which are addressed to women, slogans whose authors are women, and slogans indirectly related to women. The research material has been supplied by Polish political slogans from the period 1918–2020, found both in the press and other written texts (on leaflets, banners, propaganda placards, walls, poster pillars, billboards) and in oral texts (political speeches, cries and chants at rallies, demonstrations, and protests). The paper examines in detail two aspects of slogans: pragmatic (related to the changing role of women as participants of political and public discourse) and formal (concerning the linguistic form of the samples analyzed). The analysis has revealed the following tendencies: the changing activity of women over time, reaching its peak in the second decade of 21st century; the evolving form of slogans, from the rhetoric of appeal and obligation towards slogans of increasing generality and with strong links to other texts of culture.
