Summary/Abstract: The purpose of the Hague Conference on Private International Law is to work for the harmonisation and progressive unification of the rules of private international law. Its work aims to provide Aktualności z działalności Haskiej Konferencji Prawa Prywatnego Międzynarodowego 77 people who live and act across borders with a high level of legal certainty. The paper analyses the structure and working methods of the Organisation and presents its significant achievements in the areas of international legal cooperation, family law, and civil procedure. It also presents an overview of its more than 125 years of experience in the gradual unification of global solutions of private international law. The article contains a brief presentation of the ongoing legislative projects and crucial future directions of the Conference, set out in The HCCH Strategic Plan 2019–2022. Apart from introducing treaties and legally non-binding instruments, the Organisation also delivers post-Convention services and accessible information for the benefit of its members. As it continues its efforts to improve the practical operation of the HCCH conventions and instruments, the Organisation faces ongoing challenges related to globalisation and digitalisation, which require constant and thorough responses to more complex scenarios.
