Summary/Abstract: The establishment of the Communist regime in Romania brought with it important changes in national and local cultural life. They are reflected in the press, situated under the strict control of the authorities of that time.Literature and writers of the time could only address certain topics, literary works and press articles reflecting only realities agreed by the authorities. Lists of banned books were made, volumes that no longer corresponded to the new communist ideology. The regime imposed the generalization of mass culture, dedicated to working people.
