Summary/Abstract: Even nowadays, much of Simion Bărnuţiu’s works are still unpublished; among them, Prologus galeatus. Mitropolia de la Alba Iulia. O vorbă la tempul său despre libertatea şi unitatea besercei românesci. Închinată clerului şi poporului acestei beserici, whose importance for our history is questionless. Bărnuţiu wrote it while he was a student, at Pavia, in the summer of 1854, and it is considered to be the last of his works, meant the public, that proves his European vision of political and ideological problems. Using the dialogue shape between three symbolic characters, Petru, Pavel and Toma, Bărnuţiu highlights the importance of religious authonomy; he considers that church must not obey to political authorities and that it must be considered an instrument of national entrechment. He proves himself to be familiarized with the canonic laws and accentuates the importance of religious unity. The main ideea is that the activity of Blaj Mitropolia must be real and consists in religious liberty.
