Summary/Abstract: Biblia translated and coordinated by Petru Pavel Aron has a double meaning; we may first speak about his importance in religious and cultural life, because it is well-known that Biblia was always seen as a major cultural event; second, about Aron’ s desire to choose the text of Vulgata as inspiration source, instead of choosing Septuaginta, as usual. In this way, Aron and his co-workers have offered us the first translation of Vulgata from our ancient culture. We may speak both of advantages and handicaps of group work; the first ones refer to the short time the team needed for translation; the second refer to the specific language features of the territories each interpreter belonged to. We may distinguish four cathegories of specific features: phonetical, morphological, syntactical and lexical. From phonetical point of view we have to mention the spreading of combined language forms and expressions, but this phenomenon is quite maleable if we take into consideration the different territorial origins of each interpreter. From morphological point of view, it is worth mentioning that each interpreter promoted ancient, regional forms and expressions. From syntactical point of view, it is obvious that there are no differences between this text and any other text written in the same period of time. From lexical point of view we have to emphasize the numerous words and expressions of Latin origin. Some of them are now used for the first time. The text is today very important because it is considered to be the thrifty of the local Romanian language that has been spoken in the 18th century.
