Summary/Abstract: The paper presents the results of the research of using CSR in building competitive advantage. The largest Central-Eastern European companies managed by the international strategic investor were researched. In the paper it is assumed that international strategic investor treats corporate social responsibility in more systematic way: as consistent with a mission, as well as corporate values, and connecting subsidiaries. As such, social responsibility can be better used in the process of building competitive advantage, as well as the uniqueness of the organization. In the surveyed companies CSR is perceived as an element of the strategy, but it is not used in the organizational uniqueness creation.
