Summary/Abstract: The paper deals with the issue of the relationship of high school students to school rules. Within the theoretical background, we present a brief look at the definition of rules in the educational environment. The concept of a rule associates to teacher and students as a restriction, prohibition, instruction, prescription, etc., and therefore we look at the rules and their meaning in the didactic context in order to briefly clarify the terminological apparatus. We present the results we obtained from a questionnaire survey we conducted with high school teachers. We describe the factors that affect students' relationship to the rules. We focus on the most common manifestations of violations of the rules, the essence of the rules in the process of education as well as the formulation of rules in connection with the minimization of inappropriate behavior.
