Summary/Abstract: The aim of this article is to present the engagement of adults close to retirement age in the Baltic Sea Region countries in the education of adults, as well as to discuss the possibilities and conditions for the educational activity of the elderly. The authors also refer to the relationship between the participation of the elderly in education and their socioeconomic situation.
