Summary/Abstract: Of the sixteen Cyrillic liturgical Tetraevangelions printed in the sixteenth century, only one has not been preserved in its entirety. Only 117 pages of the Gospel Book issued in the years 1551–1553 in Sibiu by Philip the Moldavian, which contain exclusively a part of the text of the Gospel of Matthew (4:17–27:55), have been preserved. This publication is dedicated to the textual analysis of the Slavonic translation of the Gospel of Matthew preserved in this edition. Fifteen other Gospel Books (Middle Bulgarian, Serbian and East Slavonic) printed in the sixteenth century were used as comparative material. Textual variants found in the Tetraevangelion issued in Sibiu in the years 1551–1553 have allowed us to classify the Slavonic text of the Gospel of Matthew from this edition to the group of the older Middle Bulgarian and Serbian Tetraevangelions published in 1512, 1537, 1546, 1552 and 1562.
