Summary/Abstract: Due to their nature, smuggling crimes are carried out by direct border violation or by irregularities or misleading transactions in customs procedures. However, even if some products and goods are produced in our country, they are defined as contraband if they do not meet the requirements of the law numbered 5607. Ensuring border security, controls at customs gates and administrative inspections in the legal market of commercial products are of great importance in the fight against crime. In the fight against smuggling, smuggling organizations/groups that have roles such as importing, producing, storing, transporting and selling smuggled goods/products more than catching large amounts of smuggled goods, reveal all aspects of their criminal activities and their income from crime, which is the source of their illegal activities, is confiscated should be focused on. In the developing world conditions, the changing needs of the people, the supply-demand balances, the variability of tax rates, the follow-up of the source and market information of the products subject to the crime are as important as the follow-up of the groups, organizations and organizations that commit the crime. In this study, the practices in the fight against Smuggling Crimes and the economic reflections of these practices were evaluated by emphasizing. These evaluations have been prepared on the basis of the data and documents obtained from the Department of Smuggling and Organized Crimes of the Ministry of Interior, General Directorate of Security, based on the data of smuggling crimes in Turkey for the years 2012-2014.
