Role of Digitalization in the Organization of Agricultural Production

Summary/Abstract: The need for digitalization of the agricultural sector stems from the universal digitalization of all sectors and economic activities. Today it is especially important for the success and competitiveness of agricultural production to create favorable conditions for precise agriculture, construction and application of modern technologies to reduce the amount of pollution of water and soil with waste products. Digitization creates favorable conditions for optimizing production processes, increasing yields and incomes, respectively, real-time monitoring of ongoing processes in agricultural enterprises, including stages in crop development, pest control, balancing consumption and more. This paper is aim to emphasize the need for widespread implementation of digital technologies in the agricultural sector and to analyze the readiness for this change of agricultural holdings in Bulgaria.
