Summary/Abstract: About the beginnings of a printing activity at Neamț Monastery there is no clear data. The first information that we have is from 1792, when Paisie Velicicovschi, the abbot of this abbey, would have taken steps to approve the establishment of a printing house. The printing house registered a special moment for the beginning of the 19th century, with the temporary passage of Metropolitan Veniamin Costachi at this monastery. Through his guidance, the printing house becomes the second church printing house in Moldova. It is necessary to take into account, above all, the contribution of the abbots who succeeded in the abbot's seat of Neamț. Each of them supported the printing activity, in particular, of the books of cult and not only. For the mentioned century, it is worth appreciating the fact that the printing house operated at maximum levels, increasing its inventory with printing presses and machines bought by the Neamț monastery but also received as donations.
