Проучване възприятията на студенти педагози за качеството на онлайн курсове по време на пандемията COVID-19

Author(s): Svetlana Angelova,Evgeniya Topolska, / Language(s): Bulgarian Issue: 2/2022

The article presents the results of a study of students' perceptions of the online courses' quality in response to the changes accompanying the COVID-19pandemic and the need to make the transition from face-to-face to distance learning in higher education. This article aims to survey the pedagogy students’ perceptions– these future pre-school and primary school teachers towards the quality of online courses “Didactics of human – society and human – nature”, “Inclusive education” and “Ecological education” during the COVID-19 pandemic. The survey was conducted with 107 future teachers at Veliko Tarnovo University “St. St. Cyril and Methodius” – Vratsa Branch in June after the completion of the online courses in the summer semester during the academic year 2020/2021. The data collection tool is a structured questionnaire developed by A. Young and C. Norgard with closed ended items used in this survey in an adapted version and provided to respondents via an access link. In general, the results of the survey show that students have positive perceptions about the quality of online courses. However, they need to be encouraged to be active participants in each of the online courses, including by engaging in online discussions, other proactive interactions as well as performing a variety of assessment tasks, recognizing the importance of goals. Regardless of the outcome of the crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, efforts towards the quality of online courses and the corresponding perceptions of students will therefore continue to be the focus, as changes in the learning environment become more sustainable and the future of higher education should adapt to these changes.

Teaching in the Digital Age during the COVID-19 Pandemic

Author(s): Madeleine Danova,Danail Danov / Language(s): English Issue: 3s/2022

The present paper evaluates the way the digital age has changed how we teach at higher educational institutions and how that has helped us to adapt quickly to the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. The focus is on the way digital literacy has been re-defined in the last few years deeply marked by the pandemic and the way on-line resources and digital environment have been used at the Faculty of Classical and Modern Philology of Sofia University ‘’St. Kliment Ohridski’’ to ensure the continuation of the educational process in the conditions of a complete lock-down and pandemic restrictions. On the basis of the feedback by both students and university teaching staff, the paper analyzes the creation of new digital skills necessary for teaching the “digital natives” of today. The theoretical framework within which this analysis is carried out is closely connected to the study of the cognitive processes responsible for learning a foreign language and acquiring skills that are part of the new digital literacy of the twenty-first century. The conclusions can serve as a basis for suggested changes in the curriculum of teaching at the Faculty of Classical and Modern Philology at Sofia University.

Features of the Formation of the “Selfˮ Concept of Students Using Digital Technologies during the COVID-19 Pandemic

Features of the Formation of the “Selfˮ Concept of Students Using Digital Technologies during the COVID-19 Pandemic

Author(s): Berik Matayev,Kadisha Shalgynbayeva,Zaru Kulsharipova / Language(s): English Issue: 3s/2022

Modern psychological and pedagogical studies of professional training of undergraduate students in the specialty "Pedagogy and Psychology" in online learning conditions increase the relevance of research in the field of the "Self" concept. The psychological term "Self" in science has many meanings. On the one hand, the "Self", as mentioned above, is the result of the separation of a person from the surrounding communication space, which allows them to feel and feel their physical and mental state and to know themself as a subject of activity. On the other hand, self-realization of their own "Self" is an object of self-knowledge for them, especially at the stage of professional development. Diagnostics of the "Self" concept of students in the conditions of professional training was carried out using the methods of S.A. Budassi, M. Kuhn, T. McPartland "Who am I?", "I am in the past. I'm in the present. I'm in the future" and a specially designed questionnaire. The sample consisted of 141 students of Pavlodar Pedagogical University (PPU) and Toraighyrov University (TOU) aged 17 to 23 years, without work experience. Based on the results obtained, the hypothesis of the existence of a relationship between the "Self" concept and the professional training of future specialists was confirmed.

Teaching English Pronunciation during the COVID Pandemic

Teaching English Pronunciation during the COVID Pandemic

Author(s): Snezhina Dimitrova / Language(s): English Issue: 3s/2022

It is often pointed out that pronunciation instruction, unlike many other aspects of language learning, is a very physical activity. In teaching the pronunciation of a foreign language, face-to-face tuition with an experienced, phonetically trained instructor remains the best option. But the COVID pandemic and the shift to online teaching which universities in Bulgaria had to make virtually overnight about two years ago, forced course instructors to adapt very quickly both their teaching materials and resources as well as their teaching methods and practices to the new realities of life in / with the epidemic. The present paper addresses the question of teaching English pronunciation at tertiary level during the COVID pandemic. It discusses briefly the advantages and disadvantages of a number of digital resources which university students have found useful both in class and for individual work outside the virtual classroom on various segmental and suprasegmental aspects of the pronunciation of the foreign language.

Специфика на обучението по хорово дирижиране в специалностите „Музика“ и „Педагогика на обучението по музика“ в Пловдивския университет „Паисий Хилендарски“

Author(s): Zdravka Hvarkata / Language(s): Bulgarian Issue: 3/2022

Teaching choir conducting in the specialties “Music” and “Pedagogy of teaching music” in Plovdiv university “Paisii Hilendarski” has its own specifics in view of the fact that the university is not a specialized one and the students do not have enough preliminary music background. This necessitates a more complicated approach in teaching them, which includes elaborating various issues in the field of theory of music and putting the studied works in a broader music-and-history context. As a lecturer of choir conducting I made my own pedagogical system comprising a preliminary introduction to the studied authors, clarification of the stylistic peculiarities of the particular works and analyses of their form in view of structure and composition process when working out a conductor’s own concept of interpretation. When selecting songs for choir conducting my criterion is that they have high artistic impact and thus inspire the students, at the same time demand the acquisition of worthy conducting skills and techniques. In this paper such an example is the suggested comment about working on Claude Le Jeune’s “Battle song”.

Прилагане, адаптиране и важност на иновативния метод саундпейнтинг в предучилищна възраст

Author(s): Desislava Kostova / Language(s): Bulgarian Issue: 3/2022

Using Soundpainting to enhance and reinforce children's knowledge of holidays and custom can become a teacher's perfect weapon. Giving children the basic concepts of the different holidays and customs, and then giving them freedom of improvisation, makes them direct participants in the educational process in a very casual and even fun way for children. Incorporating Soundpainting in pedagogical situations gives the teacher unlimited possibilities to involve children's active participation in the educational process in an intriguing and impressive way. Having fun and learning-by-doing, children will easily remember the changes in nature, time-honoured traditions and customs, more about professions and their importance in the social way of life, about drawing and creativity. The main point here is that each teaching situation can become an unforgettable moment in which each child feels unique, unleash their creativity while experiencing each skill and knowledge through their own prism and rationality.

Работодателската марка като конкурентно предимство

Author(s): Nikolay Kanchev / Language(s): Bulgarian Issue: 3/2022

The article examines the employer branding as an expression of the reputation and experience that creates an organization as an employer (this is in practice the identity of the organization, which is perceived by the public). It has been pointed out that building a successful employer branding strategy is done through the development and ongoing implementation of policies, programs, rewards, benefits offered to potential job applicants and to existing employees benefits and advantages. Good employer branding has been shown to be a strong competitive advantage in recruiting and retaining employees. Even if no specific employer branding strategy has been created, this brand exists in reality and has an impact on a daily basis. If there is no such strategy, however, the brand is likely to be perceived in a different way than we want it to be perceived. The different stages in developing and implementing an employer branding strategy are therefore discussed.

Бинарният урок като средство за надграждане на задължителния образователен минимум по математика във втори клас

Author(s): Veselina Georgieva,Tanya Ivanova / Language(s): Bulgarian Issue: 3/2022

The binary (also called integrated or synthesized) lesson is considered as a non-traditional form of organization of learning. This type of lessons is applied both in vocational education and in general education school. In binary lessons, theoretical knowledge and practical skills are formed inseparably. They can unite two teachers from different subjects and fields. Binary lessons have a more specific technology of preparation and conduct than traditional lessons. Their structure is very dynamic and flexible depending on the type of lesson (lesson-lecture, lesson-seminar, lesson-talk, lesson-discussion, lesson-conference, summary lesson, etc.). Such lessons are usually difficult to fit into a lesson. It is good for such lessons to be paired, because they favor the development of dialogic communication and interaction of teachers with each other, as well as between each of them and the students. The availability of two sources of information stimulates students to be actively involved in the learning environment, to compare different points of view, to express their opinions and attitudes. During such a lesson, they have the opportunity not only to master a much larger amount of information than traditional, but also to develop and improve their communication skills, to show initiative and creativity.

Панаир на науката

Author(s): Greta Stoyanova / Language(s): Bulgarian Issue: 3/2022

For the successful implementation of the new Life sciences and Biology and health education curriculums it is essential to put the emphasis on the research approach. As a teacher who embraces innovations, I encourage and apply both the practical and project-orientated education. „Science Fair“ is a method of teaching and learning in which the students acquire new knowledge, develop skills and competencies, while planning, putting in practice and presenting the projects that they have created (individually and in teams). Working on projects turns the act of learning into an exciting and intriguing process, provokes the natural curiosity and research desire of the students, enhances their motivation for learning, improves the collaboration between the teacher and the students, supports the active and interactive learning, combines knowledge, experiences and actions in an innovative way with the aim of solving real and actual problems. The students are the main driving force, as they experiment, seek and find their own answers, which makes them feel like explorers and inventors. By doing so, I stimulate the development of the potential, creativity, proactivity, creative thinking and imagination of each individual student.
