Ethics is a part of axiology, which in turn is one of the three branches of philosophy. It occupies an important place in every developed civilization. Ethics are generally defined as the philosophy of morality. Nevertheless, such a general explanation does not speak much to us, so it is worth mentioning the definition used by a world-renowned ethical researcher, who was devoted to the book I reviewed: "Ethics is a philosophical science that formulates general moral principles and detailed norms of human behavior through innate a person's cognitive ability "(Ślipko 2004, 35). One of its types is Christian ethics, which - according to Feliks Koneczny - is the foundation of Latin civilization, which also belongs to Poland. It would be a truism to say that there is no state without law, but there may be a law without state. It should be noted, however, that any legal regulation established by the competent authorities is often the direct result of the culture in which a given society is located. Ethics in a given country is not an individual matter of a given individual and an essential component of the functioning of the entire society residing in a particular territory.

Between the 20th and the 13th of March 2016 in Zakopane took place XX conference "Applications of Algebra in Logic and Informatics". True, its title does not encourage discussion of topics in the philosophical journal, but the opportunity to participate in the debates allows us to discern the organizational and substantive opening of this particular scientific community to more humanistic content. I am writing about this, although this interest should not be astonishing to any person who, although he can at minimum be able to look at mathematics as a historically developing process of knowledge of reality. Often, the basis of many scholars' attempts to describe the world was their philosophical stance far beyond the reflection on their discipline. Examples of such characters may be prominent thinkers who lay the foundations for modern philosophy and science: Rene Descartes, Gotfried Wilhelm Leibniz and Isaac Newton. It is worth mentioning, in this context, the outstanding Polish logic of Stanislaw Leśniewski, who drew his interest in deductive discourses on a profound ontological reflection. (Nota bene two weeks after the end of the session was a hundredth anniversary of his birth.) To this figure I will return later in his report.

The article is devoted to the issue of representing the tactile experiences of characters in films. Although the category of tactility is very popular among contemporary film scholars, it has not yet been the subject of extensive research in the field of structural poetics. The author examines the issue referring to the narratological concept of Mieke Bal and the category of focalization. Birkholc distinguishes the basic types of representing tactile experiences in films, which can be depicted both within the objective and subjective mode of narration. The author tries to prove the functionality of the category of tactile focalization, which allows to focus on issues which were marginalized by classic narratology.

This review critically examines Lisa E. Bloom's Climate Change and the New Polar Aesthetics (2022) by studying the book’s key methodological and analytical approaches to contemporary visual art on the poles. I locate Bloom's work as part of a larger discourse on Ice Humanities and highlight her own contribution to the field by focusing on the book's reconfiguration of critical environmentalism through intersectional feminist, indigenous, and transnational frameworks. The review also discusses the dual role of aesthetics in both shaping hegemonic perceptions of the poles and in articulating strategies for their subversion.

A virtual tour is a guided tour facilitated through Virtual Reality (VR) technology. The primary focus of this paper is on Virtual Tours of Facilities (VTF) within academic contexts. These VTFs employ VR as a medium to provide immersive educational experiences within facilities, such as laboratories, industrial sites, and universities. Our study advances three hypotheses: firstly, that continuous variables distinguish VTFs; secondly, that VTFs offer distinct inherent advantages and disadvantages in comparison to conventional in-person visits; and thirdly, that various software types and developmental approaches for virtual tours can be systematically categorized based on their technical attributes and usability factors. Through a snowball rolling literature review method, we analyze 32 studies to identify current research trends, pinpoint gaps, and highlight areas of interest related to VTF. The ensuing analysis explores VTF applications, associated challenges, and potential technologies, culminating in a comprehensive and insightful overview of the field.

Recenze Milana Vojáčka si vážím, zmiňované „překlepy“ („férový“ soud místo „fémový“ v poznámce pod čarou, zatímco v textu je to opakovaně napsáno správně, a rok 1911 místo 1811) mě samozřejmě mrzí – mea culpa.
