Aktualna sytuacja prawna mniejszości narodowych i etnicznych, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem praw w dziedzinie oświaty
The article’s main aim is to analyze the legal situation of national and ethnic minorities, with particular emphasis on the rights in the field of education. The views of the doctrine in the discussed scope were also reviewed. The conducted research showed the existence of numerous legal measures aimed at maintaining their own identity, traditions, customs, culture and language. Among the many rights belonging to minorities, their right to make independent decisions about taking advantage of this status and the possibility of using a minority language and a regional language were particularly highlighted. It has been shown that one of the leading privileges of minorities is the right to learn the language, their own culture and history in public schools and, accordingly, to a lesser extent in kindergartens. The research also revealed the existence of an exhaustive list of national and ethnic minorities, which prevents other groups of citizens from exercising at least some of their rights, e.g. in the field of learning their language.
