The international academic conference “The Undiscovered Woman: from Antiquity to the Modern Times” was organized on 22–23 September 2016 by the Department of Polish Medieval History and Economic History at the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin. The purpose of the conference was to identify categories of women and their activities less recognized in the field of contemporary humanities. A number of representatives from academic centres and institutions of scholarly research from Poland and abroad took part in the event.

The symposium was held in Kraków on April 28th–29th, 2016, and it touched upon the subject of religion in the public sphere in the legal state of the 19th and 20th centuries. It was organised by the Chair of General History of Law and State at the Jagiellonian University. The participants were greeted by Prof. Dorota Malec, PhD, Vice Dean for Administrative Studies at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the Jagiellonian University (as well as the University’s Vice Rector-Elect for Development). The proceedings of the conference began with the inaugural speech delivered by Prof. Andrzej Dziadzio, PhD, Head of the Chair of General History of Law and State at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow. As many as 15 lecturers from 5 countries (Poland, Hungary, Germany, Austria, and the USA) contributed to the discussions. Each day of the symposium was divided into two sessions. The papers presented focused on the problem of relations between the church and the state throughout the 19th century, the inter-war years, and the post-war period, as well as on such problems as the secularisation of marriage law, protection of religious feelings, the status of church-affiliated organizations, and others issues concerning church/state law and religious policy. Special attention was given to the legal systems of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, the successor states of the Habsburg Monarchy, and the German legal environment.

W dniach 12-13 listopada 2015 roku na Wydziale Filozofi i i Socjologii Uniwersytetu Marii Curie-Skłodowskiej w Lublinie odbyło się trzecie Otwarte Seminarium Filozofi czno-Psychiatryczne. Zostało ono zatytułowane „Diagnozy współczesności”. Dwie poprzednie edycje seminarium („Psychiatria i fi lozofi a w poszukiwaniu wspólnego języka” oraz „Norma/Patologia”) miały miejsce w Warszawie w siedzibie Muzeum Sztuki Nowoczesnej.

Kultura polska – w tym również literatura – tworzona na emigracji po drugiej wojnie światowej jest w dużej mierze nieznana. Co prawda po roku 1989 wiele zrobiono dla zachowania i przybliżenia dorobku Polaków żyjących poza krajem, zwłaszcza na Zachodzie, sporo nazwisk nadal jednak brzmi obco – szczególnie dla młodszego pokolenia. Na pytanie, kim był Józef Wittlin, niekiedy nie potrafi odpowiedzieć nawet osoba zainteresowana polską literaturą. Tymczasem przed drugą wojną światową pisarza nie trzeba było reklamować.

This article, prepared by an international team of authors – researchers from different scientific areas, connected with ICT, e-learning, pedagogy, and other related disciplines – focuses on the objectives and some results of the IRNet international project. In particular, this article describes the research tools, methods, and some procedures of the Work Package 4 (WP4) “Selection and Testing New ICT tools”: Objectives, Tasks, Deliverables, and implementation of research trips. Researchers from partner universities have analysed the results of WP4 in the context of the next stages and Work Packages of the IRNet project – International Research Network.
