Joachim Hübner, a prominent member of the intellectual circle centred around the London-based intelligencer Samuel Hartlib, was highly valued for his varied knowledge and served as a critic in the Hartlib circle. This paper focuses on his scathing review of the first version of Comenius’ Great Didactic, which he inserted in a letter sent to Comenius during November 1639. A Czech translation of Hübner’s critique and the apology he sent in his next letter is included.

Between 2020 and 2021, the Kurt and Ursula Schubert Center for Jewish Studies (CJS) in cooperation with the Department of Geoinformatics (KGI) of Palacký University in Olomouc (UPOL) and the Olomouc Museum of Art (MUO), implemented two important projects focused on the use of modern technologies and of new and effective ways of channelling the results of research into the regional history of Jewish communities in Moravia, not only to professionals but also to the general public. The outputs of the projects, presented in panel P07 of the Twelfth Congress of Czech Historians, included a specialized interactive map of Jewish Cultural and Intellectual History of Olomouc, accessible in a smartphone application, 1 and a specialized map Development of the Jewish Settlement of Olomouc. Geographic and Socioeconomic Structure of the Jewish Population in the Period of 1180–2021, visualizing data from archival research on the development of the Jewish settlement of Olomouc using the GIS System.

V Domově Iris v Ostravě se pracuje mezi jinými i s Konceptem Biografické péče o seniora. Jeho základem je poznat klienta od dětství, mládí, přes dospělost až po stáří. Díky těmto informacím, které nám buď sdělí klient sám, je-li schopen, nebo je získáme díky spolupráci s rodinou, jsme schopni nejen nastavit individuální péči a přístup ke klientovi, ale najít i příčinu, proč je klient smutný, apatický nebo až agresivní. Vyřešit jeho „projevy chování“, které snižují nejen jeho kvalitu života, ale i spolubydlících a v konečné řadě i zlepšit a ulehčit péči personálu. Při prohloubení demence se může stát, že ze dne na den senior zapomene, že si umí umýt ruce, že se umí učesat, obléknout, najíst, začne být negativní až agresivní, utíkat, smutný, takzvaně ztracený v čase, v místě v situaci nebo při zhoršení zdravotního stavu nebo po onemocnění, které způsobí např. upoutání na lůžko, poruchu řeči a pak je klient plně odkázán na naši péči.

Pravděpodobně všichni přítomní známe tradiční pětibodovou stupnici školního hodnocení od jedné (výborné) do pěti (nedostatečné) z dob, kdy jsme sami chodili do školy. Tato tradiční stupnice byla doplněna o nové pojmy, jako je například ten, že žák zvládl cíl formulovaný očekávaným výstupem apod., ale v zásadě se shodují s tradičním pojetím. Přesněji řečeno, pravidla hodnocení výsledků vzdělávání žáků vychází ze zákona č. 561/2004 Sb. a vyhlášky č. 48/2005 Sb. v aktuálních zněních.

Defined as a typically humorous, lewd and/or nonsensical verse which adheres to a strict rhyme scheme and joyous rhythm, the form is well known to generations of English-speaking readers. A generalization about limericks divides them in three categories: clean, indecent and intellectual. The category called the “intellectual stream” contains verses upon such subjects as philosophy, science, art and literature, disease, the Devil, contemporary figures, French towns, fictional persons and places, and many other topics, written by a variety of authors. According to a historical timeframe, limericks devoted to Physics cover the main important well-known discoveries in the field from Galileo to Newton, Einstein to Bose and Hawking or refer to such specific concepts like Coriolis force, kinetic energy, angular momentum, protons, neutrons and electrons, quark-dorks, conservation laws, quantum mechanics, Lorenz transformations and so forth. It can be easily detected that limericks on Physics are extremely varied in topic, structure, tone and language; they display skillful rhymes and the language used ranges from scientific to puns to describe physical phenomena and concepts. They use original ideas and indecent allusions are less rare in this area, being serious, semi-serious and funny. Their humour is mild, sophisticated, gentle and subtle and their cognitive and artistic value are unmistakable.

Prošlogodišnji, deseti natječaj Podružnice za „Nagradu za najbolji rad mladih povjesničara iz povijesti Slavonije, Srijema i Baranje“ bio je otvoren od 15. veljače do 15. lipnja 2022. Na natječaj je pristiglo ukupno pet radova, s kronološkim rasponom tema od srednjeg vijeka do druge polovine 20. stoljeća.

V roce 2018 uplynulo dne 6. března 280 let od narození známého českého topografa a historika Jaroslava Schallera. Žil v době od 6. 3. 1738 (narozen v Konopišti) do 6. 1. 1809 (zemřel v Praze). Od jeho úmrtí uplynulo v roce 2019 tedy 210 let. Po studiu na piaristickém gymnáziu v Benešově se stal od roku 1753 členem piaristického řádu. Zde se na sklonku svého učitelského působení v roce 1766 dostal do služeb (jako vychovatel a knihovník) předního českého šlechtice hraběte Františka Antonína Nostice-Rienecka. V jeho službách zůstal s výjimkou let 1772 a 1773, kdy završoval svoji pedagogickou kariéru na Moravě a ve Slezsku, až do smrti. Ve volném čase zde se věnoval topografii Čech a jejich hlavního města Prahy, historiografii piaristického řádu a pedagogice piaristického řádu. Ve všech čtyřech oborech vydal knižní díla.
