Svijest o legitimnosti opozicije, njezino legalno djelovanje i, konačno, njezino institucionalizirale vrijede ne samo kao zrele tvorbe političke kulture nego i kao prijelomnice u povijesnom razvoju političkih institucija: pored jamstva individualnih političkih prava (sloboda), postojanje ili nepostojanje opozicije vrijedi i u političkoj znanosti i u političkoj zbiljnosti kao jedan od bitnih indikatora postojanja ili nepostojanja demokracije u političkim porecima i kao kriterij svrstavanja pojedinih političkih sustava među demokratske ili nedemokratske.

The Agricultural Economics Committee (Committee) of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (Academy) greeted Csaba Csáki, a Member of the Academy on the occasion of his 75th birthday on the 13th of November on 2015. József Popp, the Chairman of the Committee opened the gala meeting and asked Tamás Németh, the President of the Agricultural Sciences Section to express his greetings. Tamás Németh highly appreciated Csaba Csáki’s scientific, academic and university career and wished him great health, happiness and prosperity.

The author stresses on achievements acquired in 2016. English Studies at NBU introduced an optional Open Peer Review system. Reviewers now have the option to select whether their reviews are anonymous or open, and if they give permission to disclose their names. That year the Editorial Board also introduced a Doctoral section to give young researchers the opportunity to share their innovative ideas and research findings. The policy of the journal was revised to state explicitly that all published articles are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution - Non-Commercial 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC 4.0).

Przez dwadzieścia pięć lat (1983–2007) kierowałeś Katedrą Filologii Polskiej, w latach 2002–2007 pełniłeś także funkcję dyrektora Instytutu Filologii Słowiańskiej i Bałtyckiej na Budapeszteńskim Uniwersytecie im. Loránda Eötvösa. W ciągu tego okresu nasza katedra, węgierska polonistyka oraz cała slawistyka stały się znaczącym centrum nauczania oraz ośrodkiem badań naukowych. Twoje starania panie Profesorze oraz owocna praca przyniosły uznanie na arenie międzynarodowej. Pamiętam dzień, kiedy spotkaliśmy się po raz pierwszy. Na egzaminie państwowym z języka polskiego w komisji siedział nieznany mi nauczyciel. Dopiero poźniej dowiedziałam się, że to nowo mianowany kierownik katedry. Podczas mojego stypendium bardzo powoli poznawaliśmy się nawzajem. Tak naprawdę nasza współpraca rozpoczęła się w 1987 roku, kiedy ze studentki stałam się pracownikiem katedry.

Профессору Михаю Кочишу, заведующему Институтом славистики Сегедского университета в июле текущего года исполнилось 60 лет. Юбиляр родился 4 июля 1955 г. в городе Мезётур. Среднюю школу он окончил в будапешсткой Гимназии им. Михая Фазекаша в классе с математическим уклоном. Первый университетский диплом Михай Кочиш получил по русскому языку и литературе и по истории русского языка в 1979 г. на Историко-филологическом факультете Университета им. Аттилы Йожефа, а второй – по украинскому языку и литературе – в 1984 г. на Историко-филологическом факультете Университета им. Лоранда Этвеша. Он получил докторскую степень по языкознанию в Сегеде в 1996 г., а в 2005 г. хабилитировал в Университете им. Лоранда Этвеша. В 2010 г. ему было присвоено звание доктора Венгерской академии наук. Кроме русского и украинского Михай Кочиш владеет (на среднем уровне) и французским и итальянским языками.

W ostatnich latach pisaliśmy o pogarszającej się atmosferze wokół badań nad Zagładą w Polsce i narastającej instrumentalizacji tej tematyki. W mijającym roku tendencja ta jeszcze się nasiliła. Obserwujemy z coraz większym niepokojem postępujący proces niszczenia podstaw demokratycznego państwa prawnego, łamanie konstytucji, demontaż Monteskiuszowskiej zasady trójpodziału władzy. Wyjątkowo groźne jest według nas monopolizowanie przez partię rządzącą dyskursu o historii, przede wszystkim tej najnowszej, mające na celu ustanowienie jedynie słusznej wizji przeszłości, tradycji, tożsamości narodowej i obowiązującego modelu patriotyzmu. Grozą przejmuje tolerowanie przez państwo polskie haseł rasistowskich i gloryfikacji rodzimego faszyzmu (podczas tzw. marszu niepodległości 11 listopada – kolejnego całkowicie upartyjnionego święta państwowego, stającego się łupem skrajnych nacjonalistów).

W piśmie „Zagłada Żydów. Studia i Materiały” z 2016 r. (nr 12, s. 548–556) Dariusz Libionka zamieścił recenzję książki mojego autorstwa, The Polish Underground and the Jews, 1939–1945 (New York 2015). Potwierdza on, że jest to pierwsza publikacja naukowa poświęcona tej tematyce, która uwzględnia cały okres drugiej wojny światowej, po czym dodaje: „co nie znaczy, że temat to terra incognita. W ostatnich dziesięciu latach ukazało się w Polsce wiele studiów historycznych dotyczących różnych aspektów tego tematu, powstałych na podstawie poważnych kwerend w kraju i za granicą” (s. 549).

Odpowiadając Joshui Zimmermanowi, przystępuję od razu do meritum. Nie jest prawdą, że jego książkę przejrzałem pobieżnie. Na początku recenzji zreferowałem jej zawartość i konstrukcję. Poinformowałem również o tym, co zawierają kolejne rozdziały. Później odnosiłem się do zawartości poszczególnych partii tekstu bardziej szczegółowo. Jeśli chodzi o kwestie generalne, zwróciłem przede wszystkim uwagę na brak rzetelnego omówienia literatury przedmiotu, który uświadomiłby odbiorcy, co zostało już opracowane. Nie wystarczy odnotowanie, że ktoś już wcześniej tę czy inną kwestię podejmował, a nawet napisał o tym (tak jak Adam Puławski albo Andrzej Żbikowski) całą książkę.

The Bulletin of Integrative Psychiatry tries to continue the tradition initiated at “Socola” Hospital in 1919, when a group of intellectuals, medical doctors and personalities from other professions founded the Society of Neurology, Psychiatry and Psychology in Iaşi. Even from its beginnings, the Society edited a journal entitled “Bulletins et Mémoires de la Société de Neurologie, Psychiatrie et Psychologie de Iassy”, the first publication of the kind in Romania, which was unique also by its vision and opening towards biology, psychology, sociology and philosophy and by its prestigious board of editors: C. I. Parhon, Gh. Preda, Constantin Fedeleș, Arnold Stocker, P. Andrei, Corneliu Popa-Radu, I. A. Scriban, well known personalities, some of them being physicians of great culture and scientific qualification.

Károly Gadányi on his 70th birthday

In every person’s life it is a significant event to celebrate the 70th birthday. It is especially so if the person celebrating his birthday worked in a field that requires a change in the pace and way of life at this milestone of his carrier. This is true for university professors, including Károly Gadányi. Professors who, besides their active work as teachers and researchers, filled official academic management and social functions with serious responsibilities and highly demanding obligations feel in a special way in such a situation: on the one hand, they feel relieved because they are liberated from the enormous burden of an energy and time-consuming activity, which is not so difficult to get used to but, on the other hand, it is a much heavier burden to experience the termination of active teaching activities and the lack of daily encounters with young people.

CSANÁD BÁLINT ZUM FÜNFUNDSECHZIGSTEN GEBURTSTAG

Ein ungarischer Archäologe mit dem Taufnamen Csanád, der zudem als einer der Experten ersten Ranges der Frühgeschichte der Magyaren gilt, trägt notwendigerweise die Prägung einer Art Prädestination. Leute pflegen ihre Namen nicht selbst zu wählen, so verrät dieser Name eines mächtigen Herren, dem ein Komitat im Süden Ungarns seinen Namen bis heute verdankt und dessen Namensvetter im ungarischen Mittelalter berühmte und historisch hochbedeutende Persönlichkeiten waren, den Willen seiner hochgebildeten Eltern, einer Lehrerin und eines Wissenschaftlers. Der Sohn, Csanád, ist Erbe und Fortsetzer seines Vaters, des Historikers und Archäologen Alajos Bálint geworden. Sein in den Personalausweisen registrierter Geburtsort Kaschau (Kassa, Košice) und Geburtsjahr 1943 weisen auf den damaligen – und zwar für die Schicksale des gemeinsamen Kulturerbes sowohl aus slowakischer als auch aus ungarischer Sicht als mustergültig anerkannten – Tätigkeitsbereich des Vaters hin.
