Tratamentul luxației congenitale de șold neurologică

Tratamentul luxației congenitale de șold neurologică

Author(s): Iulian Icleanu,Mariana Cordun / Language(s): Romanian Issue: 34/2015

Congenital hip luxation is a disorder which evolves in time. Teratological hip dislocation is a distinct form of hip luxation, which usually appears with other disorders. These hips are dislocated before birth. In this thesis we will try to elaborate a recovery program, through physical exercises, which will help us realize our treatment objectives: diminishing articular stiffness, increasing articular mobility, increasing muscle strength, recalibration of agonist and antagonist balances and reeducating gait. The specific objectives of the study consist of the particularization of the recovery programs based on age, illness stage (dysplasia or luxation) and either surgical or non-surgical intervention. To show the importance of physiotherapy in gait rehabilitation of a child with hip dislocation we started from the hypothesis: using an adequate rehabilitation program after an individualized methodology, optimizes the functional recovery and ensures the gains of hip stability and the formation of an engram of gait as close as it could be to the normal one. We present a case of neurological congenital hip dislocation where the treatment initiated early is showing good results. Results obtained are significantly different and we came to the conclusion that starting an untimely analytical kinetic treatment and globally personalizing it to every patient has better biomechanical results for the hip.

Time-lapse microscopy role in improving the outcome of IVF/ICSI cycles by monitoring and selection of early embryo

Author(s): Gabriela Simionescu,Radu Maftei,Emil Anton,Sabina Valeanu,Bogdan Doroftei / Language(s): Romanian Issue: 37/2016

In vitro fertilization (IVF) and intracytoplasmatic sperm injection (ICSI) are well-established assisted reproductive biotechnologies used to overcome infertility in couples. Time-lapse monitoring is an imagistic technology which was elaborated to fulfill the need for observing the dynamics of the mammalian embryonic development in a continuous, non-invasive manner, without removing the embryos from the optimal culturing conditions. This technology offers unique information regarding the cleavage process, as well as morphological and structural modifications thus enabling the embryologists to select the embryos with elevated implantation potential.

Socio-demografski činioci uspešnosti darovitih učenika

Author(s): Milena M. Letić Lungulov / Language(s): Serbian Issue: 2/2016

Although success of the gifted population is often indicated as a subject of empirical exploration, it is noted that this issue remains insufficiently clarified in the aspect of socio-demographic characteristics. In an effort to complement the knowledge on the aforementioned "neglected" sphere, there has been carried out an empirical research that puts the issue of success of gifted students in the context of four different domains (music, painting, sports and mathematics). A variable of giftedness has been considered in two ways in the research: firstly in terms of its representation in the various domains of giftedness, and then from the standpoint of its relation to the socio-demographic characteristics of respondents. If the specified aspects of the research subject were further concretized, it would mean that the research aims to provide answers to the following questions: whether there is and what is the difference structure in the level of success of the students gifted in different domains, and whether there are connections between the success of gifted students and their social -demographic characteristics? A variable of success has been realized through two types of indicators: academic achievement, and participation and awards in competitions. In the capacity of independent variables, the following socio-demographic characteristics appear in the research: age of the respondents (15-19 years old), sex of the respondents (dichotomous variable: male - female) and the parents’ level of education (which includes three categories: elementary and / or secondary school, college or university, master's degree or doctorate). The survey was conducted in Serbia, on the sample of 473 respondents who attend specialized secondary schools for the gifted from Novi Sad, Belgrade and Kraljevo. Although convenient, a sample has a satisfactory degree of representativeness, since the entrance examinations for these schools include the application of the tests of specific abilities, where the prescribed minimum number of points required for entry means that candidates should have developed specific skills in relation to the average population. By examining the differences in the level of success of the respondents, given the domain of giftedness, it has been found that the music gifted students are leading in relation to the other respondents, and both in terms of the school success and in terms of the advanced-type success, which is consistent with previous research on similar issues. Age of respondents appeared to be significant only in the case of the school achievement, in the sense that older students achieve better results at school than the younger ones, while in the advanced type of success there are no statistically significant differences with respect to these socio-demographic characteristics. These findings are related to a tendency to improve the achievement of gifted students along with the introduction of the domain and in the school context. When it comes to examining the relationship between sex and indicators of success, there has been determined the lack of statistically significant differences between boys and girls, thus compromising attempts to clearly connect the success in a particular domain with sexual affiliation. Success of gifted students in this research has not shown a tendency towards changing, in relation to the level of parents’ education. However, these findings to not justify the conclusion that the success of gifted individuals is completely independent from the level of parents’ education, hence the test sample consists of different domains of giftedness, which is why there is a probability to get the difference if separated. Based on the analyzed results of the research, it has been concluded that the phenomenon of giftedness is multi-dimensional. Therefore, it is significant for the research to examine relevant socio-demographic characteristics that may affect its manifestation, but it is necessary to specify and concretize it within the framework of individual domains of giftedness.

Population distribution is a fundamental indicator and a starting point for the design of strategies and plans for the functional space sustainability. Under unstable geopolitical conditions, depopulation of this target area should be observed as a matter of national interest. Speaking of population distribution and population density, the Republic of Srpska is a heterogeneous area with pronounced regional and intraregional diversity. One of the major characteristics of population distribution is the spatialdemographic polarization with a disperse type of population distribution.

Author(s): Uroš Živanović / Language(s): Serbian Issue: 13/2016

In developed countries of the world, themes of census statistics and methodology represent an extraordinary significance. Alternatives of traditional census, outdated in many ways, are being studied. In the era of globalization, where migration is an essential concept, as well as technological boom that provides a more economical and more frequent statistical surveys, census actions provide outdated data, therefore there is a need for new methods. This paper is about the experience of one country in the implementation of new census methods in accordance with the needs of the government and users. Positive and negative aspects of this method are considered in this paper. Rolling census in France was supposed to provide two essential conditions: the existence of a local database that would be annually updated with new data and reduction of census financial costs that would undoubtedly be higher during the use of traditional methods. After ten years of its usage it could be said that the new method has met expectations.

Облици просторне покретљивости у Србији: миграције и мобилност

Author(s): Dunja D. Poleti Ćosić / Language(s): Serbian Issue: 1/2014

Changes in modern migration patterns over the past few decades have led researchers to redefine the theoreti-cal approaches and to examine temporal and spatial dimension of population movements. Realizing that the long-term change of residence is increasingly replaced by temporary relocation, short-term and circular move-ments, helped theorists to make turn toward the concept of spatial mobility. This concept is not unique, but in the social sciences is used in at least four meanings and includes residential mobility, migration (both interna-tional and regional), travel (tourist and business), as well as the daily movement of the population. The aim of this study will be to examine the characteristics of the two residential groups of medium-sized towns in Serbia: those who have experience with long-term movements and those who are facing time-limited, more frequent and shorter trips. The differences in socio-demographic and socio-economic characteristics of these groups are expected to be found.

Odnos motivacije za materinstvom sa određenim sociodemografskim varijablama i rodnim identitetom

Author(s): Georgije M. Vuletić,Teodora G. Vuletić / Language(s): English,Serbian Issue: 2/2016

Main goal of the research was to explore the relationship between motivation for motherhood and some of the sociodemographic variables which have been noticed as significant in the similar researches of other authors, as well as relation to the gender roles and gender identity, according to the model proposed by Sandra Bem. The study was conducted on the sample consisting of 571 female students in Belgrade. Statistically significant correlations are confirmed between motivation for motherhood and number of siblings, age of subject's mother and age of subject's mother at first birth. The highest correlation is found between motivation for motherhood and femininity. It is also proposed a preliminary questioner, as the first step of constructing an adequate instrument for measuring motivation for motherhood. The questioner is used for estimation of motivation for motherhood in this research.

Senior obciążeniem, życiowym odpadem poprodukcyjnym czy szansą współczesności? (nowy prekariat?)

Author(s): Edward Wiktor Radecki / Language(s): Polish Issue: 1/2017

The article is devoted to, resulting from the Polish demographic situation, the problems of social and professional functioning of the elderly. The researchers indicate that this significant and growing number of age group of Poles becomes a member of precariat. Defined as a community of persons who are in a precarious situation, weak economically, excluded from the possibility of professional development. The text contains a preliminary analysis of the correctness of such an assumption, in the context of several of its basic designates. On the background of examples of people achieving above average success already at an older age, showing the low level of economic security, the lack of access to important benefits and services as well as a low level of welfare of Polish seniors. Terrorism – the dark side of demographic dividend. A case study of Pakistan

Terrorism – the dark side of demographic dividend. A case study of Pakistan

Author(s): Farhan Zahid,Adeem Khan / Language(s): English Issue: 9/2016

Demographic dividend could be considered as a corollary to demographic transition. Because of the shift in demographics with respect to mean age over a period of time more people fall under the age bracket of 15–64 than below 15 and above 64. Fortunately, Pakistan is considered to be one of these states experiencing the phenomenon of demographic dividend. Pakistan is also one the worst victims of terrorism, which can be regarded as the dark side of the demographic explosion. There may be many other fall outs such as rise in crime, local feuds, civil war and other forms of political violence but in fragile states with ungoverned territories, the demographic disproportions vis-à-vis resources may pave the way for terrorism. This would be an ideal situation terrorist recruitment and size of terrorist organizations would also increase vis-à-vis the population growth. The Islamist terrorist organizations would capitalize on this upcoming situation as they have the required trained cadres and infrastructure to reap the benefits of the demographic dividend. In case the country fails to reap the benefits of demographic dividend then the terrorist organizations would.

Дневне миграције женског становништва у Војводини

Author(s): Jovana M. Čikić,Snežana S. Stojšin / Language(s): Serbian Issue: 2/2017

Contemporary societies are characterised by significant spatial mobility of people, but also goods, capitals and ideas. Mobility of people has various forms (from international to local, from permanent to daily commuting, travel and tourism, etc.). Nevertheless, mobility is still characterised by selectivity which shapes different practices of mobility for individuals and groups, according to the macro, mezzo and micro factors. Numerous sociological and demographic references point out on differences in mobility of men and women. This regards to daily commuting as well. Concepts of gender regimes and gender contracts are standard foundations for the explanation of such variations. Accordingly, we have analyzed daily commuting of female population in Vojvodina. We have argued that women are less commuting than man. Also, we have argued that there are differences in: a) gendered daily commuting practices according to the settlement type, b) daily commuting practices of active women and female pupils/students and c) that there is an increase of female daily commuting practice in comparison to previous census. The assumptions have been analyzed based on the census results in 2002 and 2011.

ZNACZENIE EUGENIKI W PRACY SOCJALNEJ

Author(s): Magdalena Piekarczyk / Language(s): Polish Issue: 3/2016

Social work is a unique profession composed of many different aspects and built on interdisciplinary theory. Its perception depends on many factors as well as on a person himself/herself. Social work is based on looking to the future with the person in need. However, it should also look back and learn from history. Eugenics – as an important area to explore – was a threat to people as it focused on improving them by interfering in their lives. As a result, today’s social work professionals work with people with far more psychological problems than they used to have. In order to help them social work should recognize the similarities from the past and (re)build our identity based on the values that will be imperishable.

Руралносоциолошки осврт на социјалну репродукцију породичних газдинстава

Author(s): Jovana M. Čikić / Language(s): Serbian Issue: 161/2017

Social reproduction of family farms entails both transfer of ownership over property and transfer of power in decision making. Its process, timing, costs and outcomes are conditioned by characteristics of farm and farm environment. Outcomes of social reproduction influence not only other types of family farm reproduction, but also rural family, rural community and peasantry in general. Thus, characteristics of agrarian and rural structure have been analyzed. From the rural sociological perspective, they are considered as factors of social reproduction. The outcomes of social reproduction within post-productivism and post-socialist transition have been examined. Also, four possible scenarios of the effects of social reproduction on production in family farms in contemporary Serbian society have been defined.
