ТЕСТ НА СТРУП ПРИ ДЕЦА НА ВЪЗРАСТ ОТ 8 ДО 11 ГОДИНИ

Author(s): Evelina Bogdanova,Bogdana Alexandrova / Language(s): Bulgarian / Issue: 1/2004

The present study, designed to investigate components of attention in children, addressed the development of the Stroop effect within the age span from 8 to 12 years. 192 school-aged children, coming from 4 age groups were individually administered by the first Bulgarian adaptation (M. Raycheva, 1999) of the Golden version of the test (1978), together with the coding sub-test of the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for children and a reading test, corresponding to their grade level. The results show that age groups differ significantly in their performance on each of the three parts of the test, the interference score shows a significant age difference as well that is most pronounced between ages 8 and 9. The present results do not support the existence of significant sex differences, as they were found only in some of the age groups for specific parts of the test. The analysis of performance for each age group indicated score on the word page to be less than score on the color page in ages 8 and 9 and almost the same for 10-year-olds. The pattern of the scores for the oldest group is different and more like that of adults. The colour words selected for the Bulgarian adaptation and the necessity of a new version are discussed.

Въпросът за прехода от природно към технологично възвишено

Author(s): Lachezar Antonov / Language(s): English,Bulgarian / Issue: 4/2018

The article is devoted to the reconstruction of the major themes and research perspectives in theoretical discourse on the “technological sublime”. The text is based on the idea that, whereas within classical 18th-century aesthetics, the sublime was primarily connected with the experience of man’s weakness, helplessness and insignificance before the power of Nature, only a century later the perspective was radically changed. At the heart of the change was the industrialization of modern societies, as a result of which the sublime was transferred to monumental engineering structures and complex technological facilities that, similar to natural forces, are capable of generating enthusiasm and anxiety, hope and fear, awe and astonishment.

The study investigates the typology of perfectionism based on the Frost Multidimensional Perfectionism Scale (Frost et al., 1990) in a sample of Bulgarian students. Clustering procedures yield two clusters of students interpreted as nonperfectionist and maladaptive perfectionists. Maladaptive perfectionist have high score on subscales “Concern over Mistakes”, “Parental Expectations and Criticism”, “Doubt about Actions”, “Personal Standards” and in lesser extent on “Organization”. Nonperfectionists have low scores on all five dimensions. The results also indicates, that maladaptive perfectionists show significantly higher levels of achievement motivation, anxiety and depression than nonperfectionists. Future directions for researches and the promotion of positive perfectionism are discussed.

Типология на скандалите в политическите кампании през 2013 и 2014

Author(s): Rayna Dushkova / Language(s): Bulgarian / Issue: 1/2017

Political campaigns which passed regarding the parliamentary elections in 2013 and 2014, provoking research interest. A reason is that these campaigns differ in their occurrence and characteristics of previous campaigns. In contrast to the preceding in 2011 - for mayoral and presidential elections, and parliamentary in 2009, those of 2013 and 2014 are characterized as campaign in crisis. Campaigning begins prematurely as a consequence of the political crisis in the beginning of March when the ruling GERB government resigned (2013). Also the coalition government of Prime Minister Plamen Oresharski resigned in July 2014. Both resignations are the result of widespread civil protests in locations in Bulgaria. As a result of the crises and deepening social and economic problems, is presumed that political parties would focus on messages and topics of national importance. This is not obtained, and parties submit to the electorate mostly populist messages. Almost absent discussion on political agendas and priorities in future management, intentionally discredit political opponents and deploying techniques of negative campaign, the effective use of various political scandals in order to emotionally influence public attitudes. The media has crucial role in this process to translating messages in the campaign. The focus is to the denigration of candidates and political parties in election campaigns.

Топика на априорното

Author(s): Silviya Kristeva / Language(s): Bulgarian / Issue: 1/2016

By introducing the a priori-investigation of the reason, Kant poses the possibility of one separate area, or method, or thematic in the transcendental analysis of the pure forms of reason. Do the a priori then have its own field which could distinct the derivation of those pure forms and so the a priori alone to differentiate itself among the three, delineated inside the boundaries of reason, areas of the basic faculties of pure reason – sensibility, understanding and reason. We raise the question – whether the a priori is connected with a meta-posing of the transcendental procedure as a reflection upon the activity and possibilities of the reason itself. And from this point on to differentiate the a priori with its own elements and progress of realization and so the a priori could find its own topics in the hole constitution of pure consciousness.

Тортура на Голом отоку кроз призму психолошке науке у делу Петра Костића

Тортура на Голом отоку кроз призму психолошке науке у делу Петра Костића

Author(s): Miroslav Krstić,Biljana Jaredić / Language(s): Serbian / Issue: 1/2020

The subject of this research is the scientific contribution of the psychologist Petar Kostić, as an objective scientist, in the analysis and interpretation of the methodology of torture in the camp for political prisoners on Goli Otok, through the prism of psychology. Understanding the specific form of torture applied on Goli Otok is the main subject of research. According to the UN, torture or abuse is an act of intent to inflict pain, grievous physical suffering, or grievous mental suffering on a person for the purpose to obtain informations, confessions or the punishment for the act of which the person is suspected. The central part illuminates the theoretical determinations and the scientific model of the system of "self-directed" re-education in the Goli Otok, through the action of psychological behaviors as an experimental frame of the Skiner's type and brainwashing as a practical system of "self-directed" re-education. Nake Island is a poor, uninhabited island in the Adriatic Sea. Since 1949, Tito's non-believers, primarily supporters of Stalinism, nationalists, and a number of supporters of democratic movements and parties from the years immediately after the Communist Revolution were located on the Goli Otok island and St. Grgur, in a camp for Yugoslav political prisoners. Most of the buildings on the island are located between Mala Tetina Bay and Melna Bay. The last political prisoner was released in 1956. The theoretical framework that underlies this is the four basic backings of the personality of the clinical psychologist Professor dr. Joseph Berger. The paper discusses further topics related to the abuse of psychology in shaping human behavior, the composition and functioning of the system of "self-directed" upbringing, the psychological supportive personality system that implicitly starts from the psycho-ecological theory of human beings: body, belonging, thinking and purpose, faith and hope , Milgram's, Ashov's and Zimbard's experiments in "self-directed" re-education. Torture process is explained through five stages of brainwashing process explained by Skinner's method- reward and punishment. Selidman's concept of learned helplessness was also used to better understand the behavior of the Naked island prisoners. Through the Skinner's model, the techniques used in torture are explained and the effects they have on an individual's psychological functioning. At the end of the paper, the implications for mental health are explained and what, in some Naked island victims, helped them to survive and be functional after the torture they have survived.

Трагедията на портрета и драмата на човека (по Оскар Уайлд)

Author(s): Ivanka Stapova / Language(s): English,Bulgarian / Issue: 4/2017

The article is focused on the dramatic relation between a man and his portrait. In Oscar Wilde’s novel, the portrait plays a leading and decisive role as the objectification of conscience. In the name of beauty and youth impervious to time, a moral transfer of the human conscience is made. Instead of serving as an essential component in Dorian’s life, conscience is translated outside, to the portrait. The drama begins when the portrait begins to live the vice-ridden life of the literary character, while the latter remains eternally young and handsome...

Тражење сензација и анксиозност код наркомана

Author(s): Kristina Ranđelović,Dušan Ranđelović,Bojana Dimitrijević / Language(s): Serbian / Issue: 1/2018

The aim of the conducted research was to determine the correlation between the dimensions of the sensation seeking and anxiety. Also, it searched for significant differences in the level of expression of the dimensions of the sensation seeking and the anxiety between drug addicts and non-addicts. The sample was intentional (N=70) and it consisted of 35 drug addicts, treated for psycho active substance addiction at the Mental Health Clinic in Niš, and 35 subjects with no symptoms of addiction and without a history of substance abuse treatment, equal in age and educational attainment with a group of drug addicts. Applied instruments included Zuckerman sensation seeking scale (SSS - V), the Spielberger state-trait anxiety inventory - Form Y (STAI) and a survey designed for the research purposes. Statistically significant differences in the expression of the sensation-seeking and general anxiety dimensions between drug addicts and non-addicts were determined. Compared to the non-clinical sub-sample, drug addicts have demonstrated more prominent excitement seeking dimensions as well as boredom sensitivity and general anxiety. What was also established was the statistically significant positive and moderate correlation between the situational anxiety and the excitement and adventure seeking on the sub-sample of non-addicts. The results showed a low and negative statistically significant correlation between the disinhibition dimension and the age of both sub-samples. However, there was a statistically significant negative correlation between the situational anxiety and years of age of the drug-addict subcontract. The obtained results have partially confirmed the initial assumptions of the research and opened new questions about sensation seeking and anxiety in drug addicts, and how they are all connected. The practical implications of the conducted research are reflected in the possibility of applying the obtained results in advisory and therapeutic work with drug addicts in order to establish a better quality of life and better healing prognosis. These results could be put to use by clinical psychologists in their practice in an attempt to improve the quality of health care and provide psycho-social support to all patients treated for addiction. A good insight into the problem of research and the establishment of links between these concepts should improve existing knowledge and create a suitable foundation for the establishment of new preventive programs for addiction diseases.

Тракия и образът на тракиеца в народоведските съчинения на Антон Страшимиров

Тракия и образът на тракиеца в народоведските съчинения на Антон Страшимиров

Author(s): Milena Kirova / Language(s): Bulgarian / Issue: 1/2018

Anton Strashimirov is one of the first Bulgarian authors who wrote in the field of national psychology as early as the beginning of the 20th century. He published “A Book on Bulgarians” in 1918, and five years later, it reappeared in an expanded new edition as “Our People”. This book set the beginning of a popular discourse known as national psychology, which in Bulgaria subsisted until the late 20th century. The main body of Strashimirov's work dealt with the five principal groups of Bulgarians characterised by their different geographical location and dialects: Shops, Moesian people, Thracian people, Rhodopeans, and Macedonian people. This paper deals with the image of Thracian people (typical features of their life, psychological characteristics, and patterns of behaviour) the way Strashimirov depicted them. Anton Strashimirov's ethno-psychological research possesses beyond doubt great literary merits, but his generalisations are also interesting for exemplifying and proving the popular stereotypes which early 20th century Bulgarian writers resorted to when conceiving and constructing the national consciousness.

Трансфер и продужени трансфер у интелигенцији „спирмановог типа“

Author(s): Blagoje Nešić / Language(s): Serbian / Issue: 02/2014

This paper dealt with the results of transversal-longitudinal and longitudinal studies of the development of intelligence in pupils aged 9 to 15. The transfer effects of the experimental program on the Spearman-type intelligence of pupils were investigated in both studies (the algorithms of cognitive functions and logical-perceptive games). For the assessment of intelligence the following tests were used: 1) Raven's Progressive Matrices, 2) figurative analogies, 3) verbal analogies, and 4) word pairs. All tests have good psychometric properties. The following methods were used for data processing: covariance analysis and t-test of the significance of changes. The significant effects of the experimental program on pupils’ accomplishments were determined by means of tests which mostly register Spearman’s laws of education. Both types of study show that the intelligence measured with this kind of test is educable. Furthermore, the effects of the program after its completion were monitored and significant transfer effects were found. This is a new phenomenon in the domain of transfer since the previous studies did not deal with the analysis of the post-experimentalprogram effects. In addition to this, the problem is current in terms of methodology since the progress of groups (experimental and control groups) is compared for the post-program periods. That is why this phenomenon is termed “prolonged transfer effect” (it is not wrong to also use the term “subsequent transfer effect”). Therefore, the synthesis of the study results indicates that the Spearman-type intelligence can be improved when pupils practice the algorithmsof cognitive functions all the more since both studies showed prolonged transfer effects in addition to transfer effects.

Трансформация на места на памет – местността „Паметниците“ при Свищов

Author(s): Iskren Velikov / Language(s): Bulgarian / Issue: 1/2018

The preservation of the memory for the past is part of the system that forms identity.“The sites of memory“ (after Pierre Nora), which surpass the frames of the physical space of the event and also include the characters-participants and the event itself as a phenomenon, are building a symbolic construct, which is often comprehended bylocal communities as heritage. The present research examines the development and transformation of places of national memory in Bulgaria. Case-study of the report is the “Monuments“ Park of the town of Svishtov in Northern Bulgaria – the original site of the landing of Russian troops in 1877, the beginning of the Liberation War. Duringits 140 years of history, the “Tekir-dere / the Monuments“ area witnesses three stages of development. In the initial years following the Liberation the area is affirmed as a site for commemoration and homage to the bravery of the Russian soldiers. OnБългарска етнология, бр. 1 (2018) / 91occasion of the celebrations for the 100th anniversary of the war, the narrative was expanded with the presentation of the Bulgarian volunteer troops in the process of achieving Freedom. In the beginning of the 21st c. the process of “acquiring“ the historical territory continues by introducing the revolutionary Filip Totyu and his detachment in 1867. With the expansion of the urban territory, the space also acquires the functions of a town park. Thus, despite the physical distance from the settlement, the area has turned nowadays into a place for relaxation and walk for the citizens of Svishtov, which is assisted by the activities for the socialization of the park.

The purpose of this article is to outline both the character and direction of transformation of values of businessmen, students and teachers, and to reveal the specialties of contemporary Bulgarian cultural value model in the situation of social change. The analysis of empirical and theoretical studies shows that value priorities of these socio-professional groups and the socio-cultural model are described as ambivalence of individual and collective interests. However, the significance of individual-oriented values has increased in the groups of businessmen, students and teachers and in the macro-social frame as a whole in the process of social reforms in our country.
