Author(s): Magdalena Kalisiak-Mędelska / Language(s): Polish / Issue: 467/2017

Keywords: public transport; municipal mobility; urban policy; logistics

Nowadays transport is one of challenges a contemporary city is facing. Its dynamic development increases municipal mobility, but also disturbs the flow of people and cargo in the area of the city. Public transport is one of the subjects included in Public Municipal Policy 2023. It is particularly important for the functioning and development of a city. This article presents priorities in terms of public transport and mobility included in Public Municipal Policy 2023 with municipal logistics solutions. They have, however, a general character. The concrete solutions depend on spatial conditions of a city, development perspectives and financial situation. THE EFFECT OF THE ACTIVITIES WITHIN THE SCOPE OF THE 2023 EDUCATION VISION DOCUMENT ON TEACHERS’ PROFESSIONAL IMAGE PERCEPTIONS

Author(s): İlker Kösterelioğlu / Language(s): English / Issue: 1/2021

Keywords: teacher image; teacher’ image perceptions; 2023 education vision document;

This research aimed to present the effect of the activities conducted within the context of the 2023 Education Vision Document on the perceived teacher image by determining teachers’ perceptions in regards to the teacher image existing in today’s society. The qualitative research was conducted with the phenomenology design. The research group was composed of teachers (n=57) who completed a non-thesis master’s degree program in the field of Classroom Teaching at Amasya University, Institute of Social Sciences during 2016-2018 academic years. The research data were obtained from teachers’ written statements provided for the open-ended questions in the question form developed by the researcher. Content analysis method was used in the analysis of the collected data. While the participating teachers generally emphasized the sanctity of the teaching profession in their answers, they also stated that the perceived image of the teaching profession in today’s society was basically negative. The variables affecting the perception of the teaching profession in society were classified under the following themes: sociological changes, local practices, employee rights, policy makers, media, parents, students, teachers, teacher training and qualification of prospective teachers. Teachers’ suggestions to contribute to the image of the teaching profession were gathered under the themes of teacher motivation, teacher training, employee rights, media, innovative practices and training support for teachers. In the context of the obtained data, it can be argued that some of the actions have been put forward so far in regards to 2023 Education Vision Document, and the practices expected to be implemented in the near future will positively contribute to the perceived image of the teaching profession in society.

CALL FOR PAPERS FOR THE SPECIAL ISSUE OF Zeszyty Teoretyczne Rachunkowości (ZTR – The Theoretical Journal of Accounting) IN 2023

Research methods for current accounting developments Motivation Contemporary accounting is undergoing a substantive transformation. Notable reasons for these changes include the digitization of the economy, as well as ostensibly renewed pressures for socio-economic activities to be sustainable and more socially responsible. The observed trends contribute to the expansion of accounting boundaries. Contempo-rary accounting includes not only monetary measurement methods but multidimensional projections of the economic activity of people and organizations using numbers, narratives, graphic elements, and multimedia. In contrast to the promoted and popular normative positionings, accounting thought and practices are neither objective nor independent. Accounting in both these strata is a social product of the times and places in which it is embedded and operationalized. This view is reflected in a wide spectrum of current social scientific research in accounting.The indicated trends translate into methodological challenges and innovations in accounting research. The virtualization of economic and social relations provides a new type and quality of research material in the form of digital traces of individual and or-ganizational activities. New technologies also enrich the set of research tools with new methods and techniques, e.g., mobilizing artificial intelligence. The orientation of ac-counting to social responsibility, on the other hand, favors the multidimensionality of inquiries and drawing from theoretical and methodological developments from other disciplines.

Microeconomic quantification of the benefits of Czech basic pension insurance according to 2023 parameters

Mikroekonomická kvantifikace výhodnosti českého základního důchodového pojištění dle parametrů pro rok 2023

Author(s): Jiří Vopátek / Language(s): Czech / Issue: 5/2022

Keywords: Czech Republic; pension; pension insurance premiums; solidarity; equivalence; assessment basis; internal rate of return; acquisition period;

The paper addresses the solidarity and equivalence of the minimum amount of the assessment base for the payment of pension insurance premiums for the period 1993−2022 with an assessment of the impact on the regular old-age pension for eight defined income-typed individuals. According to the parameters for 2023, the analysis revealed that with respect to the minimum countable income, employees receive a total pension benefit of up to 7.3 times their average monthly assessment base, concerning which the internal rate of return (IRR) attains its highest values. Regarding self-employed persons with a minimum assessment base for the payment of insurance premiums, the amount of the duly assessed old-age pension reaches more than 2.9 times their average monthly assessment base; thus, even in this case, the IRR attains high values. Persons on the minimum wage receive a total pension benefit at a level of 2.1 times their average monthly assessment base. The article proves, employing IRR analysis, that the so-called first pension pillar remains advantageous for persons with the lowest assessment bases for the deduction of pension insurance premiums.

Legal instruments for environmental protection and combatting climate change in the common agricultural policy 2023–2027

Legal instruments for environmental protection and combatting climate change in the common agricultural policy 2023–2027

Prawne instrumenty ochrony środowiska i przeciwdziałania zmianom klimatu we Wspólnej Polityce Rolnej na lata 2023–2027

Author(s): Beata Włodarczyk / Language(s): Polish / Issue: 2 (31)/2022

Keywords: Common Agricultural Policy 2023–2027; concept of sustainability; interventions; ecoschemes; strategic plan;

The subject of this article is the legal instruments for environmental protection and combatting climate change in the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) for 2023–2027. The analysis was conducted in the context of the agricultural model adopted in the European Union. The starting point of the considerations was the construction of the new CAP and its budget, as well as the shape that the EU legislator gave to the legal instruments of this policy. The possible impact of the geopolitical situation on the implementation of CAP objectives was also examined. The legal instruments for environmental protection and combatting climate change have been significantly strengthened in the new CAP and the disbursement of the increasingly higher amounts of support depends now, among other things, on the implementation of these instruments by the Member States. The green architecture of the CAP has also been expanded. Its objectives are ambitious and concern many spheres of agricultural activity. However, it will only be possible to assess the effectiveness of these environmental-climate instruments once experience of their implementation has been gained. Moreover, it may turn out that due to the need to ensure food security globally, it will be necessary to modify the CAP priorities, even if at the expense of the environment challenges.

Training network preparation and practical solutions for economic improvement at universities of Mexico in the literature from 2020 to 2023

Author(s): Celia Yaneth Quiroz Campas,Victor Hugo Meriño Cordoba,Gilberto Bermudez Ruíz,José Marcos Bustos-Aguayo,Arturo Sánchez Sánchez,Cruz García Lirios / Language(s): English / Issue: 09+10/2022

Keywords: COVID-19; Intellectual; Administrative-Economic Formation; Diffuse Model;

In administrative-economic sciences, factor analysis models are essential for their explanatory capacity of institutional responses to a risk event. The objective of this document was to contrast a model that explains the emergence of corporate governance dimensions in the face of the pandemic. An exploratory study was carried out based on a systematic review of the literature from 2020 to 2023, considering the search by keywords in Google Scholar and Microsoft academic, as well as the experts from a public university in the center of Mexico. The results show that corporate identity explains the university’s response to the pandemic. In relation to the theory of corporate governance which explains the emergence of identity, reputation, and image in the face of a risky event, we have established the relationship between the three factors. The established three-dimensional model suggests the prevalence of identity as a central factor of corporate governance in the face of COVID-19.

BANKING DISTRESS - A COMPARATIVE APPROACH OF TWO BUSINESS CASES IN THE BANKING SECTOR IN USA IN 2023

BANKING DISTRESS - A COMPARATIVE APPROACH OF TWO BUSINESS CASES IN THE BANKING SECTOR IN USA IN 2023

Author(s): Bogdan Munteanu / Language(s): English / Issue: 1/2023

Keywords: Bank Regulation; Bank Supervision; Corporate Governance; Banking Sector Resilience; Financial Management; Liquidity Crisis;

The aims of the paper are to explore the recent liquidity stress situations encountered by the regional banks in the United States of America (with a particular focus on Silvergate Bank and Silicon Valley Bank, both headquartered in California) and to provide a descriptive viewpoint on the regulatory framework, prudentiality and financial management issues, including accounting aspects and corporate governance. The research methodology pertains to the cause-effect analysis and the dynamics of changes over time and to the synthesis of documented authentic public resources of information, giving substance to the main findings. The paper explores the causes and the consequences of the failing banks from the perspective of implications to the current regulatory environment and prudential requirements, with a view to the financial markets functioning. It analyses the business models and the root-causes that led to the recent distress in the first quarter of the year 2023 in the US banking system. The conclusions draw evidence on how clustered liquidity stress and fast-unfolding bank runs became risk factors, in a context where regulatory environment allowed for a more relaxed supervisory stance on banks and the rising interest rates in an inflationary economy affected the market value of financial instruments as means of liquidity in banks’ portfolios. Still, despite some particular situations pertaining to some US banks, the US banking sector remains resilient, with significant risk-absorbing capacities.
