For over a millennium, the Pavlichians maintained a faith manifested through a dogmatic attachment to the Epistles of Paul and the Gospel of Luke, transmitted by voice by the initiated leaders of communities. Starting for the XIV th century AD, the Catholicism was present in the northwestern part of Bulgaria since 1330 when the colonization of the Transylvanian Saxons for the exploitation of mineral deposits in the Ciprovec area takes place. In a critical moment of Ukraine's resistance against Russian aggression, President Volodymyr Zelensky traveled to New York for the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly. His messages to the General Assembly and the Security Council provide Ukraine's leadership perspective on the largest aggression on the European continent since World War II. The compilation of these interventions and related context, translated into Romanian, underscores the concern expressed by NRDO regarding what has been denounced as the most significant threat to the international human rights protection system since the beginning of the war.

The Russia-Ukraine Conflict from 2014 to 2023 and the Significance of a Strategic Victory in Cyberspace

The Russia-Ukraine Conflict from 2014 to 2023 and the Significance of a Strategic Victory in Cyberspace

The Russia-Ukraine Conflict from 2014 to 2023 and the Significance of a Strategic Victory in Cyberspace

Author(s): Dominika Dziwisz,Błażej Sajduk / Language(s): English / Issue: 1/2023

Keywords: Cyberspace; Russia; Ukraine; war; strategy;

The article explores Russian engagement in cyberspace during the conflict with Ukraine. Many experts have been surprised not only by the lack of coordination between offensive military operations in cyberspace and other domains, but also by the absence of significant cyberattacks. The central argument revolves around the perceived inadequacy of Russian capabilities. However, the authors contend that such an assessment is flawed and stems from the imposition of Western expectations onto a non-Western actor. They argue that the Russians’ employment of cyberspace not only aligns with their strategic culture but also represents a continuation of their utilisation of cyber as a tool for disinformation, which was previously observed during the war with Georgia in 2008 and the initial phase of the conflict with Ukraine in 2014. The aim of the article is threefold. Firstly, it discusses the Western strategic discourse regarding the potential use of cyberspace in warfare. In contrast to the position of Western experts, the second part of the article presents the Russian approach. The third section describes how the application of Russian cyber warfare concepts has played out in practice during the conflict in Ukraine.

Missionary martyrs and religious freedom, ed. W. Cisło, Warszawa 2023

Misjonarze męczennicy a wolność religijna, red. W. Cisło, Warszawa 2023

Author(s): Piotr Piasecki / Language(s): Polish / Issue: 28/2023

Keywords: missionaries; martyrdom; religious freedom; persecution of Christians;

The publication’s goal is to fill a void by demonstrating the value of missionary martyrdom in the context of the right to religious freedom. Furthermore, the study defends the dignity of Christians and reveals the value of the sacrifice made by the community of believers in every corner of the world, as represented in the martyrdom of missionaries. Martyrdom has been present in the Church as a form of testimony from its inception. However, it is important to remember that it is always the result of abuses of the right to life and the freedom to practise one’s faith. The purpose of this publication is to identify the current reference of the martyrdom of missionaries to religious freedom rights, as well as the causes and consequences of violations of these rights, not only by individuals, but also by representatives of various social movements or even state institutions.

THE ROLE OF THE BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA IN PROVIDING ASSISTANCE TO THE REPUBLIC OF TURKEY AFTER THE 2023 EARTHQUAKE

Author(s): Zlatan Bajramović,Sanja Škuletić Malagić / Language(s): English / Issue: 2/2023

Keywords: Bosnia and Herzegovina; Turkey; emergency assistance; earthquake

A powerful earthquake of magnitude 7.8 hit Turkey and Syria on February 6,2023. Another strong earthquake occurred during the day and ground shook during the week. Many buildings have been demolished and the search for residents is intense. After one week 31,643 deaths were confirmed. Turkey has officially sent a request for emergency assistance through the Civil protection mechanisms of the European union, NATO, and the UN. Numerous countries have sent their rescue teams to Turkey, but also sent the necessary goods for the survivors. Bosnia and Herzegovina joined in responding to the disaster in Turkey. Complex political structure and organization of agencies for responding to natural and other disasters in Bosnia and Herzegovina are difficult for providing aid to other countries. Despite this, rescue teams from Bosnia and Herzegovina went to Turkey. Members of the Mountain rescue service was the first to go to Turkey and were later joined by members of Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Significant funds and goods were collected in Bosnia and Herzegovina and transported to Turkey. Media reports state that the teams from Bosnia and Herzegovina have rescued many victims from the ruins. It is necessary to do engagement analysis of rescue teams from Bosnia and Herzegovina and check the possibilities for faster involvement in responding to natural and other disasters.

SERBIA AND NORTH MACEDONIA IN 2023: ECONOMIC RISKS, POLITICAL CHALLENGES AND SECURITY THREATS

Author(s): Sanja Jelisavac Trošić,Mitko Arnaudov / Language(s): English / Issue: 2/2023

Keywords: Serbia; North Macedonia; Threat; Risks; Challenges; Economy; Security; Politics; Regional cooperation

The goal of this paper is a comparative analysis of the current and upcoming challenges facing Serbia and North Macedonia in the economic, security, and political context. The research question is following: whether small states, such as Serbia and North Macedonia, can overcome instability in international relations and the region, while at the same time preserving the achieved levels of economic development, security environment and internal political stability. Through a comparative analysis of these two countries, we will present the risks, challenges and threats faced by these two small countries in the current year, as well as what unites and what separates these countries in the context of newly emerging international circumstances. Also, we will analyse the real potentials of regional cooperation in the Western Balkans from the point of view of the interstate cooperation of these two countries, as a potential determinant of creating sustainability and stability in the economic, political and security domains.
