Romanians’ Historiography in Hungary about the Beginnings of the Romanian Community in the Trianon Hungary

Romanians’ Historiography in Hungary about the Beginnings of the Romanian Community in the Trianon Hungary

Author(s): Gabriel Moisa / Language(s): Romanian / Issue: 04/2011

Keywords: Historiography; Romanians; Hungary; Trianon; Hungarians; istoriografie; români; Ungaria; Trianon; unguri

Beyond the directions and trends professed by the Romanian researchers in Hungary remains the manner how they write the history. Subject of time, they have close views to the general trend of the Hungarian historiography. Thus, for example, when talking about their minorities beginnings in nowadays Hungary they start as early approach to the 17th century. But sometimes, but not all, especially taking advantage of the postcommunist openings, they write the history according to their beliefs. We learn as about the phenomenon of ethnic assimilation that the Romanians in Hungary are subject to, one extremely stressed beginning with the 60s of the 20th century, or how about the Trianon Treaty of Peace is perceived by them.

Fair value - object of accounting revolution

VALOAREA JUSTĂ – OBIECT AL REVOLUŢIEI CONTABILE

Author(s): Cristina Silvia Nistor,Diana Cozma Ighian / Language(s): Romanian / Issue: 2/2009

Keywords: fair value; historical cost; FASB; IASB.

Lately, under the pressure of investors and with the contribution of the organizations involved in regulating accounting activities (such as the FASB, IASB, etc.) we have witnessed a change of the traditional accounting model based on historical cost, which has turned into an accounting model based on the just value, which would in turn meet the requirements for „maximizing share value”. The concept of just value has raised the interest of many theorists, practitioners, and organizations involved in regulating accounting activities, all of which have made contributions to defining it.

A NEW ENCOUNTER WITH EUGENIO BARBA

Theatre Performance in Postmodernism

Theatre Performance in Postmodernism

Theatre Performance in Postmodernism

Author(s): Radu Teampau / Language(s): English / Issue: 25/2018

Keywords: modernism; postmodernism; postdramatic; theatricality; multidisciplinary

The present paper aims to investigate, in brief, the controversial relationship between postmodernism and modernism; to outline, synthetically, the specific procedures of conceiving theatre performance in postmodernity; to analyze the performance narrative that, in postmodern era, reveals the indicible and the existential fragmentation. The research is carried out taking into consideration the end of postmodernism which was announced since the middle of the first decade of the 21st century. At the same time, besides the attempt to observe the phenomenon in its theatrical implications, the study pursues to delineate the decontextualization of theatricality from theatrical space and its recontextualization in sociopolitical space. In conclusion, the perspective beyond the end of postmodernity from which theatricality is evaluated intends to avoid the partisan thinking that any attempt to treat postmodernity requires.

REGIONAL PLANNING FOR RODNA AS A TOURIST DESTINATION

REGIONAL PLANNING FOR RODNA AS A TOURIST DESTINATION

REGIONAL PLANNING FOR RODNA AS A TOURIST DESTINATION

Author(s): Adeline-Cristina Cozma,Monica Maria Coroş / Language(s): English / Issue: 2/2020

Keywords: Regional planning; Mountain tourism; Rural tourism; Community; Planning stages; Objectives; Collaboration; Strategy; Destination management;

This paper continues previous researches dedicated to highlighting the importance of planning from a managerial point of view and to discussing the regional dimension of planning, to which it adds up the current topic, that of rural tourism planning – features, particularities, approaches, multi-functionality of land use, collaboration and partnerships, negative planning, green economy, and case-studies. Bearing the theory in mind, a radiography of Rodna commune was briefly made, taking into consideration the following aspects: economy, locals, tourist flows, accommodation, tourists’ profile, food services, accessibility and transportation, travel agents, attractions and heritage, types of tourism, IT & C, sustainability, and traditions. The reason for the description of the commune is to properly understand the context and the particularities of the analyzed destination. Further, the steps of regional planning are revealed, and each of them is separately discussed and analyzed, from both a theoretical and a practical point of view. The outcome is a strategy the community can adopt, with a vision, three directions, and several SMART objectives. This strategy is reflected in a document that aims to engage each stakeholder in the process, as well as to establish in a clear, comprehensive way the common framework. Also, there are several proposals for every community and destination that understands the importance of planning and its implications: collaboration, win-win approach, partnerships, the involvement of the community, sustainability in every dimension, and so on.

The precucutenian settlement from Isaiia - Balta Popii (com.

Author(s): Nicolae Ursulescu,Felix-Adrian Tencariu,Andrei Asăndulesei,Diana-Mariuca Vornicu,Andreea Vornicu-Țerna,Alin Mihu-Pintilie / Language(s): Romanian / Issue: 1/2020

Keywords: Situl Isaiia - Balta Popii; cultura Precucuteni; săpături sistematice; arheometrie; teledetecție;

The Fist of the Working Class: The Social Movements of Jiu Valley Miners in Post-Socialist Romania

The Fist of the Working Class: The Social Movements of Jiu Valley Miners in Post-Socialist Romania

Author(s): Ion Bogdan Vasi / Language(s): English / Issue: 01/2004

Keywords: social movements; collective identity; social networks; miners’ protests; post-socialist Romania;

This article analyzes one of the most virulent protests witnessed by postsocialist societies: the social movements of the Jiu Valley miners in Romania. I argue that the key to comprehending the Jiu Valley miners’ extraordinary mobilization can be found in the density of their social networks, which, under a particular political opportunity structure, became a crucial resource for social movement organizations. Dense social networks and a favorable political opportunity created organizational resources that were utilized by movement entrepreneurs to build a unique participant identity. Having abundant organizational resources, influential allies, and sharing a special collective identity rooted in a tradition of militancy, Jiu Valley miners could achieve a high degree of mobilization, use noninstitutionalized confrontational tactics, and be victorious.

Environmental Concerns and the Role Played by Civic Moral Disengagement and Time Perspective: a Pilot Experimental Study

Author(s): Alexandra Maftei,Andrei-Corneliu Holman / Language(s): English / Issue: 1Sup1/2021

Keywords: fast-fashion;environmental concern;time perspective;moral disengagement;

In the present exploratory study, our primary aim was to explore whether knowledge about the fast-fashion industry's harmful effects would significantly impact participants' shopping intentions (i.e., eco or fast-fashion items products). Using an experimental approach, we created a virtual clothing shop and allowed participants to win, through a raffle, the contents of their shopping carts. Participants in the experimental group watched a video about the adverse environmental consequences of the fast-fashion industry. In contrast, in the control group, we used a neutral video describing various technical marketing strategies. In the experimental condition, participants chose more eco-friendly products) compared to the control. However, there were no significant differences between the two groups in terms of fast-fashion consumption behaviors, i.e., the choices of buying fast-fashion items. We also found several significant associations between participants' general concern for the environment, consideration of future consequences, civic moral disengagement, and consumption behaviors (buying eco or fast-fashion items following the experimental procedure). Results are discussed concerning their practical implications for sustainable citizenship participation and sustainable education.

The Romanian Orthodox Diaspora in Italy: Strategies and Dynamics in Establishing and Use of Places of Worship

Author(s): Ioan Cozma,Maria Chiara Giorda / Language(s): Romanian / Issue: 3/2021

Keywords: Romanian Orthodox Diaspora; religious diversity; shared religious places; places of worship;Italy;

This paper presents the reality of religious diversity in contemporary Italy, which has in its center one of the largest and most mediatized religious and ethnic groups, that is, the Orthodox Romanians. In the last decade, this religious group has undergone an extensive process of stabilization and settling, which is visible both in material (through the purchase or construction of their own places of worship) and demographic terms (through the growing number of those who apply for Italian citizenship). Despite the number of believers and the multitude of parishes, this religious group still has difficulties building its own places of worship because they are not recognized as religious entities by the Italian state. Based on some representative examples, the article focuses primarily on the dynamics and strategies of establishing and managing the places of worship of Romanian Orthodox parishes. We use an interdisciplinary method, combining historical, social, and ethnographic tools.

The actor's dramaturgy: identity, freedom, and discipline

Author(s): Sorin-Dan Boldea / Language(s): English / Issue: 2/2022

Keywords: actor's dramaturgy; identity; theatre discipline; actor-dramatist; collectivity;

In trying to discover ourselves as artists, we are too often on the verge of making mistakes, or sometimes we may even commit acts that we will never be able to motivate or repair. There are many such acts, but two stand out among them. The first, as a common feature of every generation, is letting go of the past. The second, probably more dangerous than the first, coagulates in the future artist's desire to act similarly to the one who is successful or to the one whose work is said to represent the model and, therefore, success. On the wire stretched between these points each one of us dances at some point, until, if we're lucky, we fall and go our separate ways.
