Theoretically, but practically as well, the choreographer is a dancer and the dancer a choreographer. This paper analyzes the practical disciplines we consider essential to the education of the dancer-choreographer, also mentioning the theoretical and complementary disciplines important for informational luggage necessary for their professional development. Every dance genre has an equally important role in the development of the dancer-choreographer, who will label his or her experience accordingly: Classical dance, Renaissance dances and the baroque dances, Character dances, Ballroom dances (sportdance), Modern dance, Contemporary dance etc. Mastering as many dance styles as possible means on one hand the development of the capacity of coordination and concentration, of musical hearing and sense of rhythm, of musical and choreographic memory, abilities of improvisation, and on the other hand, the knowledge and sense of space, forms, and the social relations of a civilization.

The musical activity in Tîrgu Mureş, after 1968, experience continuous growth, the programs of specific events comprising a vaster repertoire, including works with an increasing degree of complexity. This is mainly due to the evolution and artistic development of orchestras, ensembles, groups, but also to the refining of the audience's expectations. Among the most important institutions – both in the cultural, and the formal and non-formal educational fields – which are still playing a defining role in the musical life of Tîrgu Mureş are The State Philharmonics, The Vocational High School of Arts, The Centre of Traditional Culture and Artistic Education (with its wards – The Centre for the Preservation and Promotion of Traditional Culture and The Folk Art School), The Music Department of the University of Arts Tîrgu Mureș, and the “Muresul” Professional Artistic Ensemble.

Deteriorating financial condition of a company may lead to insolvency. As a result, the company may be declared bankrupt or undergo restructuring. The first goal of the study described in the paper is to compare the financial condition of Poland-based non-financial companies undergoing restructuring and bankruptcy processes. In the empirical study, a tool for forecasting the future financial situation of a company was constructed. The second goal is the assessment of the effectiveness of restructuring processes on the basis of a comparative analysis of companies subjected to various forms of this procedure. An attempt was made to identify the determinants of the success or failure of the restructuring process. The study was based on the information from the Coface Poland, EMIS Professional and the Court and Commercial Gazette (Pol. ‘Polski Monitor Sądowy i Gospodarczy’) databases. The empirical research was conducted on a random sample of financial data of 1740 non-financial companies (580 companies that were declared bankrupt, 580 companies undergoing a restructuring, and 580 companies in a good financial condition) in 2015–2019. The Kruskal-Wallis test, Dunn’s test, Mann-Whitney’s test and the random forest classifier were used for the purpose of the study. Companies that were declared bankrupt or underwent a restructuring process have more in common with each other than with companies efficiently operating in the market. It was possible to create a classifier which enabled forecasting whether a company will have financial problems. The results of the study demonstrated that the efficiency of the restructuring process does not depend on financial factors. Moreover, restructuring often fails to protect companies from bankruptcy and does not have a significant impact on the financial condition of restructured entities.

Such an approach enables a researcher to analyze the problem in a more multidimensional way in comparison with a situation when the research is conducted only with one of the family members. However, engaging more research participants, who are often tied to each other with complicated emotional bonds, creates various ethical and methodological challenges. Considering this issue, I refer to my experience in conducting research on the dynamics and forms of adult siblings’ relations through their life course. I conducted interviews with 41 women and 14 men (in 7 cases more than one sibling from a family took part in my research). In the rest of the cases my interviewees rejected the possibility of my contacting their siblings. In this article I discuss issues concerning the recruitment of research participants belonging to the same family, managing data confidentiality when individuals who know each other are interviewed, and the dynamics of power relations between the researcher and the research participants.

In the past decades, the reduction of unemployment has been one of the crucial areas of social policies of the EU Member States because it is a key to economic growth and development. Taking into consideration the fast-changing labour market needs and the rapid transformation of labour relations, European public employment services are continuously creating new measures of active employment, with the aim to assist as many unemployed beneficiaries as possible and to swiftly re-integrate them into the labour markets. The main goal of active labour market programs is to make the matching process more efficient and to increase the number of successful matches of job vacancies and job seekers. Referring to examples of selected active employment measures in Croatia, Sweden and Denmark, this paper provides a comparative analysis of active labour market measures. The paper is divided into four sections. Section 1 provides an overview of measures to reduce unemployment; section 2 outlines the purpose of active labour market measures; section 3 provides a comparative analysis of five active labour market programs in Croatia, Denmark and Sweden, and a brief description of new activation strategies during Covid-19 in Croatia. The conclusion is that the creation of impactful social policies for employment substantially rests on conducting comprehensive analysis of the impact of active labour market measures from the perspective of new employment opportunities and the acquisition of new skills, as well as the analysis of the level of social inclusion of jobseekers

This study analyzed the views of vegans who define themselves as Muslims, Atheists or Deists. Questions such as ‘How did you decide to be a vegan?’, ‘Please present your opinion about sacrificing an animal for God’ etc. were asked to the participants in order to evaluate their views. In-depth audio-recorded interviews were conducted with individuals over the age 18 which were then, decoded and interpreted. The interviews took place between April 9 and November 8, 2017. Upon completing the analyses, it was determined that some Muslim vegans want to live and behave according to the specific religious identity and continue life as vegans without exploiting innocent living beings at the same time. On the other hand, some of the interviewed individuals mentioned that the notion of sacrifice in Islam has changed in time and it is no longer correct to sacrifice animals for Allah in Islam. According to the obtained data, Muslim vegans do not usually put the vegan identity forward and avoid politicization. Muslim vegans also reported that they stay away from activist vegan groups. The common aspect among Muslim, Atheist and Deist groups is that they are against capitalism.

Representatives of contemporary Christian apologia evaluate enlightenment in different ways. Three basic trends developed among them. One of them, the trend of negation, rejects the age of reason as such, emphasizing, above all, the disastrous consequences of the ideologies that derive from it. Another trend of acceptance emphasizes the Enlightenment sources of the idea of human rights and the democratic system. Finally, the trend of balance combines both approaches, developing a reflection on the errors of the age of reason, yet not avoiding the need for dialogue. The aim of the work is to present these three concepts, indicating the last one as adopted by the new apologia whose renaissance we are currently observing.

Under the influence of the digital revolution, museology has been the scene of different and innovative approaches in exhibition design, promotion, distance learning and face-to face education. The museum collections were digitized, and the collection information was presented to the audience through micro galleries, websites and virtual museum applications. Technologies, information operating systems, etc. are used to provide the audience with detailed information, communicate and gain experience in the use of technology. At the core of the use of technology in the museum, the museum aims to provide a diversity of audiences by creating focuses of interest that appeal to different target audiences. Among the fun and easily accessible forms of technology use in the museums are digital games related to the museum, in-museum information systems, digital platforms that enrich the exhibition, etc. is located. These applications, which provide direct access to collection information, are well equipped guides that accompany children and young people in contextual learning processes in the museum. It is important to associate museum technologies not only with museum collections and themes, but also with curriculums, access all of these applications for free, and update them regularly before and after the museum visit during the process in which the relevant topics will be taught by teachers. Many researchers have found that digital exhibitions, games and presentations used in museums make it easier and faster for visitors of different age groups to access the museum. On the other hand, the COVID19 epidemic, which has been affecting the world globally since December 2019, required the museums to meet the audience on digital platforms beyond physical environments; by bringing a period that they had to present their collections and activities to the museum audience in virtual environments, it also made it necessary for the audience to participate digitally in the museum. This study includes examples from digital works of museums that aim to promote cultural, natural and technological heritage, make them sustainable and move them to digital learning environments.

The article takes up the subject of Poland’s cultural relations with some Middle Eastern Arab countries, i.e. with Iraq, Jordan, Syria and Palestine in particular. It has been done in historical perspective, analyzing development of the connections, the determinants influencing the course of changes, and political events and processes that have been strength-ening or weakening the ties. Despite the long geographical distance between Poland and the Middle East, the cultural ties have turned out to be astonishingly rich, which was so partly due to the idiosyncrasy of their history – abound with wars and full of dramatic transformations. The three-part text begins with a historic overview of the relations that have gained a mo-mentum during the World War II and in the post-war decades. Part two concerns the relations on official diplomatic level, usually ending up in initialed agreements and exchanging official visits. And the last part scrutinizes the spontaneous grassroots links forged between groups, individuals and non-political institutions. In this case the links embrace the field of academia, education, high culture and private lives of individuals and families.

Poland has insufficient natural gas resources to satisfy its needs. That is why it has been dependent on the imports of that raw material. One of the challenges facing the Polish government is limiting Poland’s dependency on Russian gas. The objective of the paper is to present the directions of the Polish government’s energy security policy in terms of natural gas in the years of 2015–2018. Particular attention was paid to the assumptions and the implementation of the government’s gas policy in terms of the situation in the European Union gas market. An attempt was made to answer the question: To what extent have the assumptions of policy of the government of the Law and Justice party regarding Poland’s gas security been realized? In an attempt to answer the question so formulated, the following methods were used in the study: a decision-making method, formal-legal method, statistical and comparative methods. On the grounds of the conducted research, it needs to be con-cluded that after 2015, as a result of the government’s policy, the imports of natural gas from the east to Poland were reduced with a simultaneous diversification of the direction from which this raw material was delivered. The resignation from the deliveries of Russian gas to Poland after 2022 will be possible thanks to putting Baltic Pipe gas pipeline into operation and raising the flow capacity of Świnoujście LNG terminal. The implementation of these investments will have a positive impact on the improvement of Poland’s gas security. Failure to launch the investments and an increase of gas consumption in Poland will make it neces-sary to conclude a short-term Polish-Russian agreement for imports of that fuel to Poland.

This article attempts to make an empirical verification of the impact the electoral law on shaping the expectations of voters towards elected representatives. The analysis was conducted using data collected under the project entitled ‘The impact of electoral rules on the quality of local democracy in Poland’, whose fundamental premise was to take advantage of the situation arising after the amendment to the Electoral Code in 2011, as a result of which different electoral regulations were in force in the 2014 local government elections in various similar cities. Therefore, it was possible to verify a number of statements functioning in public space regarding issues, such as the positive impact of single-mandate constituencies on the quality of democracy (in particular, on the quality of democracy at the local level). The purpose of the analysis was to try to find regularities in changes in perceiving the role of councillors that may have occurred as a result of different electoral regulations. To this end, we used the qualitative comparative analysis (QCA) methodology, which allows the study of relationships between sets and the interpretation of these relationships in terms of necessity and sufficiency. The results suggest that the introduction of the majority system in a number of cities in the 2014 local government elections did not lead to the formation of a coherent model of political representation at the city council level, which would be qualitatively different from the representation model characteristic for cities with a proportional electoral system.

This research covers an examination of the effects of the ongoing war in Palestine on artists of Palestinian origin and their works that can be considered as “uprising (intifada)”. Although the beginning of the Palestine-Israel conflict can be dated back to the end of the 19th century, the turning point has been known as 1948 when the State of Israel was officially declared. While the year 1948 means victory for the Israelis, this date was imprinted on the memories of the Palestinians as a “Catastrophe (nakba in Arabic)”. The First Palestinian Intifada (uprising), which took place twice in Palestine from 1987 to 1993 (the period from the signing of the Oslo Accords and the Palestinian uprising against the occupation of Palestinian lands), the second Palestinian Intifada (uprising) from September 2000 to 2005 and the interim periods when the artists came to the fore with their works were evaluated within the scope of the uprisings. Artists who attempt to trace the traces of individual and social war memory, notably those such as Mona Hatoum, Emily Jacir and Dana Awartani, were addressed within the scope of the research on the works of artists of Palestinian origin. As a result, the works of artists, who have been continuing in Palestine from the past to the present and cannot easily isolate themselves from the conflicts, will take their place in art history as the anatomy of an occupied society by war.
