Public Philosophy and Democratic Education

Public Philosophy and Democratic Education

Filozofia Publiczna i Edukacja Demokratyczna

Frequency: 2 issues / Country: Poland

„Public Philosophy and Democratic Education” is a semi-annual peer-review (double-blind review) reviewed scientific journal, which constitutes a transdisciplinary platform not only for scientific reflection and analysis pf social, political and cultural phenomena considered from the perspective of public philosophy, political philosophy and philosophy of law but also for development of new methods of democratic, philosophical and legal education. In the eyes of editors the journal is intended to be a meeting place for two rarely cooperating research communities: political philosophers and philosophers of law affiliated with philosophy institutes, and theorists and philosophers of law affiliated with law faculties. We believe that political philosophy forms an essential and enriching element of considerations within the scope of philosophy of law, which in turn constitutes an inseparable part of reflection in the field of political philosophy, especially in analysis of contemporary theories of democracy. The most interesting place for both of them to meet is public philosophy.

Frequency: 1 issues / Country: Poland

“Gwary Dziś” journal dates back to 2001 when the first volume was published under that title, with J. Sierociuk as the editor. The Slavic aspect of the published works has been strongly accentuated since the beginning of the series and reflected in the selection of the authors who come from all the Slavic (and other) countries. The journal publishes detailed, theoretical and material works written in the spirit of traditional as well as modern theories. The thematic scope encompasses contemporary and historical dialectology and its borderlines.

Przegląd Krytyczny

Frequency: 2 issues / Country: Poland

The Critical Review (Przegląd Krytyczny) is a scientific journal published in the Faculty of Sociology at the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, in cooperation with the Sociological Committee of Poznan Society of Friends of Arts and Sciences. In the journal, we publish articles, interviews, reviews and polemics in the field of social sciences and humanities, with clearly critical provenance. Both theoretically oriented texts and texts based on empirical (qualitative and/or quantitative) research should represent a critical approach to social reality and existing paradigms of conducting science. The journal’s main aim is the most broadly understood exchange of ideas and views connected with a critical take on dominant social orders in their normative and subjective dimension. Its goal is also to form a platform for exchanging ideas relating to marginalised actors and discourses (e.g. ethnic minorities, indigenous communities, social margin, disability studies, postcolonialism, human rights, childhood studies, feminism, criticism of capitalism, consumptionism, heterodox economics, critical discourse analysis, critical pedagogy, superficiality of democracy, genocide studies and climate changes). The journal does not charge any fees to its authors and readers.
