SLAVICA SLOVACA is an interdisciplinary journal published by the Jan Stanislav Institute of Slavistics of the Slovak Academy of Sciences in cooperation with the « Slovak Matica » publishing house . It is published twice a year on 196 pages. Papers are published in all Slavic languages as well as in English, German and French, in the fields of linguistics, history, ethnology, culturology, history of Slavic studies and musicology. In addition to the studies, articles are published in the journal in the regular sections Views and News and Reviews. The content of articles published in the journal Slavica Slovaca is fundamentally determined by the research focus of the Slavic Cabinet of the Slovak Academy of Sciences, which organizes and coordinates interdisciplinary research in the field of relations between the Slovak language and culture with other Slavic languages and cultures, including Slovak-Latin, Slovak-German research. and Slovak-Hungarian relations of the oldest and older period from a comparative point of view, in internal and external cooperation. Such research helps to shed more light on many aspects of Slovak linguistic-historical and cultural development in Slovak-Slavic and Slovak-non-Slavic relations in the European context. Therefore, the scope of these researches also includes the work of Slovak scholars in Latin as well as cultural and religious work related to the use of church Slavonic in Slovak believers of the Byzantine-Slavic rite.
