Short Description

Scripta & e-Scripta contains articles, book reviews, and news about the projects and activities of the Commission for Computer Processing of Medieval Slavic Manuscripts and Early Printed Books of the International Commitee of Slavists (established in 1998). Articles will include surveys of research (Forschungsberichte), discussion of theoretical and practical approaches to medieval studies, and descriptions of new projects and resources. The editorial board hopes to stimulate and encourage professional research on the written heritage of the Middle Ages, from late Antiquity to the beginning of the eighteenth century. Archeological reports are not accepted, but papers that use archeological evidence, as well as articles based on all kinds of historical sources and methods of research, are welcome. A regular section titled "Debuts" will include first publications by graduate students and young specialists. Reviews and annotations of new books in the field of medieval studies are included. Scripta & e-Scripta accepts submissions in English, German, French, and Russian, and requires one-paragraph abstracts in Bulgarian. Authors should also submit brief biographical statements to be published alongside articles. Regularity: Scripta & e-Scripta appears once a year. Editorial board: Slavia Barlieva (Classic Philology, Cyril and Methodius Research Center, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, Bulgaria), David J. Birnbaum (Computer Humanities, Slavic Philology, Pittsburgh University, Pittsburgh, PA, USA), Ralph Cleminson (Slavic Philology, University of Portsmouth, United Kingdom), Sergej Ivanov (History, Byzantine Studies, Institute of Slavic Studies, Moscow, Russian Federation), Gabor Klaniczay (Medieval Studies, Central European University, Budapest, Hungary), Sebastian Kempgen (Slavic Studies, Bamberg University, Germany), Anissava Miltenova (Slavic Studies, Institute of Literature, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, Sofia, Bulgaria), Elissaveta Mussakova (Art Studies, Archeography and Palaeography, National Library SS Cyril and Methodius, Sofia, Bulgaria), Tatjana Slavova (Linguistics, Slavic Studies, St. Clement of Ohrid University, Sofia, Bulgaria), Margaret Dimitrova (Linguistics, Slavic Studies, St. Clement of Ohrid University, Sofia, Bulgaria).
