Short Description

Jezikoslovlje is published by the Faculty of Philosophy of Josip Juraj Strossmayer University, Osijek. Its aim is to promote the constructive interaction between theoretical and descriptive findings by providing a broadly conceived forum for research in the traditional disciplines of linguistics, ranging from phonology and morphology to syntax, semantics and pragmatics, as well as for research from neighbouring disciplines. Supported by an internationally renowned board of consulting editors, the journal will hold up for discussion theoretical and descriptive issues relevant to the linguistic community at large and thus aim at reflecting current trends in linguistic research in the above disciplines within a broad range of theoretical frameworks. This openness to all schools and currents of linguistic thought is reflected in the wide variety of contributions: original full-length articles, state-of-the-art articles, short notes, review articles and book notices, as well as conference reports. Full-length articles are normally between 3,000 and 10,000 words, short notes of about 2,000 words. These contributions should suggest a solution to the problems they address or make clear their relevance to theoretical issues. Book notices and conference reports are between 500 and 1,000 words in length, while review articles, which may cover more than one book, can have around 2,500 words. Languages of publication are Croatian and English. Jezikoslovlje is abstracted/indexed in: Web of Science, Arts and Humanities Citation Index (AHCI), Social Sciences Citation Index (SCCI), Social Scisearch, Journal Citation Reports/Social Sciences Edition, CSA Linguistics and Language Abstracts (LLBA), Linguistic Bibliography Online (BLOnline), Linguistics Abstracts, MLA Directory, Germanistik, International Bibliography of Book Reviews of Scholarly Literature In the Humanities and Social Sciences (IBR), Bibliographie linguistischer Literatur/Bibliography of Linguistic Literature (BLL), EBSCO.
