Summary/Abstract: The change of leader in Uzbekistan in 2016 resulted in an increase in the state’s activity in the international arena. Regional cooperation and maintaining a balance between Russian and Chinese influence became the main directions of its foreign policy. Uzbekistan’s policy limits the expansion of integration initiatives promoted by Russia while also creating opportunities for deepening cooperation with the EU and the U.S.
