Summary/Abstract: The ban on smoking, which has been in force since 1 January 2005, divides the Bulgarians into smokers and non-smokers and provokes ambiguous public reactions. In January 2005, the Vitosha Research Agency conducted a national representative survey of the topic among 993 Bulgarian citizens aged over 15 through the method of personalized standardized interview at the respondents' home.
