Summary/Abstract: Among the parties that were formed in the first half of 1990 were the Alliance of Reform Forces for Bosnia and Herzegovina, then the Muslim Bosniak Organization, the Democratic Party and many others. 15 parties took part in the first multi-party elections. Election campaigns conducted from August to November 1990. As national parties with one ethnic group in their composition, they gathered members of only one nation at pre-election rallies. In many respects and soon, the ethnic parties: SDA, HDZBiH and SDS became dominant among the undemocratic public of Bosnia and Herzegovina. They had the visible support of the media against pro-civic and multi-ethnic parties. In their relations with each other, the ethnic parties were unanimous in criticizing the former one-party system of government. The common determinant in the program visions was the systematization of a new social framework for the realization of human rights and religious freedom.
