Summary/Abstract: Corruption must be prevented and fought effectively as it represents a threat to the stabilization of democratic institutions and the rule of law. However, an effective fight against corruption requires active participation of the government, all sectors of public life, civil society actors and citizens. In a country, where corruption remains prevalent in many areas and continues to be a serious problem for advancing in the EU accession process, this argument becomes even stronger.
