Summary/Abstract: The countries of the Western Balkans (WB) do not have an advocacy strategy aimed at improving and accelerating their accession to the European Union (EU). Although the awareness of the need for such a strategy is growing, it turns out that the administrations of the Western Balkans only have communication strategies aimed at certain groups in their countries, such as decision makers and public opinion makers on the EU accession process, young people or opponents of integration. These strategies, however, are not aimed at relevant target groups in the EU. The Strategy for Advocating the Accession of the Western Balkans to the European Union - Guidelines, developed by eight expert organizations of the Western Balkans and the Visegrad Group1, is the first initiative of its kind.
