Summary/Abstract: The article raises the question of the role and multifunctionality of the text in the competence-oriented university training of future teachers in the modern digital age. In this context, the results of a student survey on the importance of the competences of trainees and trainers in contemporary school and university education are presented. The importance of combining activities with text and the capabilities of digital tools for the successful formation of academic, pedagogical and communicative competence is theoretically substantiated. Analyzes text-centered educational models (relying on the use of linear and branching / digital texts) aimed at developing skills for personal identification, socialization and professional growth; teaching and learning, reflective assessment. The advantages of the chosen model in the context of the supposed transformative nature of the organization of training, new roles of teacher and student, new type of relationships and interactions between them are substantiated.
