Summary/Abstract: Kashubian Microtoponims come into relationships with the culture, history. They indicates social and ethnic relations. Bilingualism of Kashubians also operates in the naming layer. Kashubian language as the one of the minority languages inscribed on UNESCO’s list of endangered languages is still present in the names of places in the metropolitan area and beyond it. Microtoponymy is often transmitted only in the verbal version but then disappears a consciousness of the origin of the name and its relationship with the designatum. The remaining microtoponyms participate in the creation of the onymical world image which gives information about the local language communities within the multivalent cultural communication union.
